My saner ones tend to think things like "well cry me a fraggin' river" and
let it pass. You're right though, for a bunch of cold-hearted mercenaries
and killers, the shadowrunning population of Seattle does seem to be
spending a large portion of its time helping little old ladies across the
road.

ive noticed this also.it seems sad that their are so many characters
willing to die for a cause they have nothing to gain from.
but then again due to the abundance of munchkins that is unlikely to
happen anyway.

When did Shadowrunning mean you had to be a cold hearted Mercenary? Most
of the 'runners around here AREN'T mercenaries, at least as far
as I know.

Some of us know a good investment when we see one. That corp was making
good money before someone tried to sink them.

I couldn't agree more. When was the last time anybody had a really
nasty, ugly back-stabbing corp run?

Well, when you kill people for a living, you want to do something to
make you feel good about yourself... :)

Though, as several people found out, Oxton was a good business
opportunity in urgent need of capital for rebuilding. They now owe one
character a hefty sum, and sold a 33% stake to another, to raise the
money to keep their people together and get another site built... which
gives me more ideas.

But, there ain't no free lunch: this time it wasn't charity, this was a
couple of characters making investment decisions.

As for the earlier post, I agree...none of mine are by profession, but
there is even a lack of mercenary attitude (for better or worse).

Er...does a nasty, ugly, back-stabbing, voyeuristic, filiciding run
involving minor Tir nobility count as "close enough?" :P

I will try my best though. I am a firm believer in storylines that give
the characters hell, especially when it doesn't require cyber-monsters or
ultra-weird mojo/beasties. I personally favor competent enemies. Okay,
so my recent Valkyrie post was a "don't worry be happy" kind of thing, but
I was in a good mood and wanted to play.
