Ok -- Thanks everyone for figuring out WHY it was I posted my "Have you seen"
message.

I didnt so much care if you like / dislike the book, but wanted to open the
discussion on if negative ess. characters / rules from that book should /
could be included into shadowtk.

I would like to consider the conversation to be open.

I dislike the idea and pretty much HATE the book. Too much filler (some
like the story / comentary, I didnt. Looked like filler to me. It could
have been better compressed and presented) for my tastes.

Someone made a comment about being harder to hit with spells, well,
at that point, I consider the 'bot to be a wall. Allowing wrecker and
ram to ground out quite happily. If a person of flesh and blood has
no soul, thats different (there is at least one character here who is running
a nega-adept (dont ask me to tell you where its from, I dont remember)) but
someone / thing that is mostly metal and chrome? Hell, its a car, treat
it as such.

And, yes, having looked over a lot of it, it would be totally easy for one
really chromed out neg-ess bad ass to bring a balanced group to its knees.
Most of the people I run in my games dont have the contacts to get enough
APDS or DPU rounds to slow down something that doesnt feel pain.

I dunno. Haven't seen the book yet, but it seems to me I've heard some
things about that game where the neg essence sammy showed up, and he didn't
exactly compete as well as the last message seems to imply...

Just spreadin' the dirt (ambidexterity, 2 stun batons, and a hella armed
combat wins every time...)

You will note that the previous full-borg conversion character on
TK, Colossus, fullfilled his purpose and has not made gratuitous
appearances since. Likewise, many other abuseive characters running
around have been retired on the basis that it's no longer a challenge.

This is Shadowrun. If you don't have even a _chance_ of losing,
why bother playing?

I'd allow neg essense, but only for a damn good reason. Or if you
just HAVE to bring someone back from the dead, put their head on
a borg-body and make sure you kill 'em off when you're done with 'em.
Keep it it the range of realism, people.
