Okay. Hello all. I play Dashira (yes that annoying stupid brat) on
ShadowTK and I think that it's getting close for time for him to have an
awakening experience. I was thinking perhaps an encounter with a bug
spirit or some sort even though I'm not quite sure how to work it out. He
needs to get hurt badly enough that it'll take 3 weeks to heal (Christmas
break I don't have access) and he needs to be made a believer in the ever
present bug. So, if anyone has ideas, etc, please feel free to bounce
them this way. Oh, he's in the Seattle area right now . . . not
exactly bug area. For some background, he just recently joined the
shadows. Family are corp pawns and he got sick of it and fled to
the shadows (read, possible plot hook later). Young, inexperienced,
stupid, mouthy, but, he's quite smart, athletic, etc. In other
words, if he learns to control that mouth of his quickly and he
learns that life's not fun and games, he'll have a chance to
survive. Ideas are welcome! Thanks all!

Yeah, sure, have him catch the next transport aircraft over to Chicago,
and he can jump out on a parachute, that way when Marathon and KitKat
catch him, it'll be too late <grin>

Seattle's not exactly a bug area, because of th elections, and a few
other things that fragged up the Brotherhood, but what makes you think
they don't exist in numbers, who's to say they haven't gone underground,
and now exist in the old storm drains and sewers..... FASA hinted
through a lot of modules about the intelligence of these creatures, and
how the Brotherhood had grown from teaching/taking down and outs, to
corp executives. Which seems to imply the bugs were capable of complex
planning and foresight. I would suggest that they are more extensively
integrated into society than some people believe.... He can have an
encounter, he just needs to be in the right place at the right time, and
after all, who's to say the bugs don't read Shadowtk, erm... Shadowland,
they have the ability and intelligence to cope, and if they themselves
can't, then hosts can... :)

There are a lot of different ways he can meet one of these strange
beasts, but unfortunately my mind is a temporary blank.... hmm. must be
a sign of not enough coffee, back later, I have to put the kettle on :)

Corp backgrounds are very useful for plot hooks, but they need to be
dealt with delicately, otherwise things can very quickly get out of
hand. I had planned a corp hook into one of the characters in the team
I'm running at the moment, but it would have had too heavy an influence
on SR in general, so I ditched it for something a bit more exotic and
not so defined. I think 90% of the other people here are corp
affiliated, at least it seems that way. <grin> (Bloody intelligence
community, they get everywhere...) :)

Yeah, that mouth of his, is likely to cause him some trouble, but then,
he's not alone :)

Well.... He's in Seattle.....
And we're currently heading for Seattle (Probably with the bugs in hot
pursuit...)

All he has to do is bump into Inferno.....

That's a bit of a problem...
We have a lot of people involved in this plot...
(It took about a month to get most of the bugs ironed out of the two posts we
just made about the evacuation of the safehouse....)

Lets see what everyone else says.....
Bull? Speak to me Bull?....

I remember real well the first time Bull met a bug... (Missing Blood:))

It can be a hell of a shock, and a good bit o' fun...:)

I ahve a few ideas to toss off the IF group, but hopefully we can arrange
something in the next day or two...

As for Dashira, he's a magician who hasn't been trained, etc. The only
reason he "knows" he's magically active is because the corp his family is
part of classified him as one. He's got power, but doesn't know crap on
how to use it. Yes, he can do a couple little magic things, but nothing
big at all. Call him a stage magician skill wise. He can get beat up,
thrashed, smashed around, make him lose an eye or something and he'll get
it replaced with cyber. He's gotta stay down for about 3 weeks so . . .
while I'm home for Christmas break. Questions, etc, mail me.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know _any_ characters
thay have corp backing ;)

Again, I plead ignorance.

It might be safer to take the fifth, that way you don't have to answer
anything, and you won't get trapped into mistaken comments :)

Snigger... That shouldn't be too difficult. Inferno has a habit of

What's about the HEIMDAL boys? Can't they do a thing? A "meeting by chance"
while hitting bugs? Or, more likely, BEING hit by bugs?

I need Marathon to post a message about searching Dashira's last know
location and not finding him. Instead, all he'll find is his ex-room.
Which is fairly clean. Then we can get on with this.

It's an idea...
It might take the rest of us too long to get there....

I've decided it's time Running Horse made an appearance (see the shadowtk
posts) and have made him the babysitter for the time being (unless there are
any objections....)

Ahh, but first, we must see if Dashira survived his training under Running

Nahhh, if you started to get out of hand, he was just ordered to tie you to

You might have been tied to the chair for a few days though before Inferno
