Guys (and gals), if you check out FASA publications, everytime a
Shadowrun "character" posts a commentary, the date stamp is mm-dd-yy. As
in 5-27-56. If y'all decide to use a different standard, fine, but this
is the precedent set by the very creators of Shadowrun themselves.

Except in the EUROPEAN Sourcebooks, where it is DD-MON-YY...

Ok - In the source books the Europeans have a different Posting format.
So when they edit the books they change the European format from
<00:00:00/DD-MM-YY> to <00:00:00/DD-MON-YY> so that people will not be
confused.

so
------

Ok guys - the format for posting

>>>>>[ Insert Stuff ]<<<<<
--Name <16:29:03/05-28-56>

And if you trully feel the need to show that you are posting from Europe

>>>>>[ Insert Stuff ]<<<<<
-- Name <16:29:03/28-APR-56>

You don't need to put the time zone, or other things.

It really does save on confusion. Most people won't notice the times on your
posts anway. They won't know that your an hour off because you are posting from
a different time zone. Heck - I don't go on daylight savings time (I don't have
to remember which part of the year to turn the clocks back or forward.) I don't
even bother changing by an hour when this happens - it trully does not matter.

What matters is that it looks nice and uncluttered. Readable and not overly
distracting (thats why we got rid of all the bloody enryption stuff). there are
reasons for all of the posting formats on the list. People will remember a
solid and interessting character much more than they remember what type of time
date stamp the person uses.

The military, as pointed out by another list member uses the same DD-MON-yy
format. So some military person might inadvertintly regress into his/her
government brainwas... oopps ah..training.
