Okay, it looks like the general consensus is to keep going with the
timeline that we have now, and let the FASA published material rear it's
head as it happens, giving us even more time to plan since we'll have some
precognition about what's going on in the world. Makes sense. There are
a few downsides to this, but I think the major plus outweighs them.

Before I say this is the way it's going to be, are there any strong
dissenting positions?

Nope, I think it works the best all around.

Wow. Such reaction...

I discussed this with Paul a while back, when I first got word that SR3
would be kicking off in 2060. And I was on the verge of asking you Mark
about this in private, to try and head off this exact sort of thing.

I'm pretty sure that we don't really need to worry about trying to leap
forward in time. The times/dates for published FASA stuff should remain
roughly in synch with real time and TK time, with the notable exception of
SR3.

Basically Paul and I thought it would be best to do exactly what is being
proposed, to simply keep moving on normally.

What probably should be done, however, is from about the middle of August
(when SR3 will be available to the public) to the end of this year, include
right at the beginning of the TK FAQ something in big bold capitalized
letters stating that until 1999, TK is in 2059, not 2060.

The date in and of itself isn't all that worrisome to me. What I do worry
about a bit is that I believe that SR3 will incorporate the major changes
wrought by the Blood in the Boardroom adventure. So until that story
concludes, like nine months from now, we'll have to be on guard that some
SR3 & TK newbie doesn't go mouthing off about changes that haven't occurred
in TK yet.

I wish I had talked to you earlier Mark. Might have saved a bit of grief
for a few list members.

Erik J.

No objections from me, but then I'm in favour of sticking with current
time line and not trying any fancy moves. :)
