Subject: Elves and the food they consume ... next on ...

Hi. Thought I would throw my limited thoughts on the matter into the
ring.

I always thought it was a biological and not cultural decision. Think
about it... when the first elves appeared there weren't two elvish
nations telling other elves how to act. Would you decide suddenly to
eat veggies only if your family was eating a mixed meal? Probably not.
You would probably already feel different enough thanks to those
wonderful pointed ears.

In my mind, if that were the case, FASA wouldn't have made the broad
statement that "elves are vegitarians." They would have said, "Most
elves choose to be vegitarian."

Unless the technology that made lactose-intolerant people able to drink
milk and consume dairy products got lost in the crash, I would suspect
by 2060, the elves have figured out (or are very close to figuring out)
how to -- in limited quantities -- get around the digestive problem.

Otherwise, I imagine they would be sick to their stomache any time they
had meat.

Just my thoughts on said subject.
