I didn't realize the little critter would take up so much attention. I was
wondering if anyone would mind it be sentient. Maybe give it a neural net and
let it run around the net to it's heart's content. Maybe if it gets better it
could give a bit more insight on the going ons at Agrigen.

So as you can see I'd hate to see it die.

Fine with me. I think it's a good idea, as /I'm/ still pretty lost.

I'm concerned with the idea that every weird thing sudenly becomes a
sentient member of the SR community, although the little Fuzzy thing
seems kool.

Spread the sentientance out over about 2 or 3 months, and then it has to
post with the magic interface that another character (I don't remember,
so i won't embarass myself by guessing) uses. Make it magical and a
shaman.

The fuzzy thing getting sentience ? Why not.. Most of the paranormals at the
Agrigen labs were supposed to 'border' on the definition of sentience. Maybe
this infection it has will give it sentience, though unless it's cured it's
going to be a very malevolent sentience.

Well i dislike the idea of Fuzzy becoming that sentient and decking.

First of all its to small to really very sentient. I would think of it more on
a leshy or muchkin level. Or better yet

Gizmo type sentience - that would be cool. I really do like the Fuzzy,
but I really don't think of it as possesing much intellect. we could make it
also all brain - making it fairly bright. I personally think of it as large
tribble size :) thats impression I got of the list.

As to it even decking - do you really think it would want to deck?
I meen after all the tech it has been subjected to it would really be averse to
the idea. Also - less than human things don't take well to the matrix.
Even a dragon has tried and gone slight OFF - though Dunklezahn seems to deck
and not be effected.

As to the who the mage is that does the ***** and posts magically
its Nightfox
I was sure you would remember this Rob - you made encryts be *****
so that when Nightfox posted it would be easier for you to edit.

Sometime, I may explain how it works again - and why it is fairly unique and
difficult.
Having Fox let it post is a good idea - and he might be able to work something
up. It would probably be along the lines of relayin emotion in words. ie
Fuzzy Doesn't like him -

Would fuzzy have a language - or use our language? HOw much does it/he/she
understand? I personally think it would be more along the empathic lines
or just making its feelings known. Also - it probably can't speak - though it
can possibly hear through its hairs (and goes deaf when it gets wet)

So -

Fuzzy - Sentient - along Gizmo/gremlins and cats/dogs lines
understands human speach somewhat
hears through fur - can't when wet
mostly all brain
not a shaman - but innately magical
with magical royally fragged up by toxins and such
this way it could communicate by empathy - send you its feelings

Well I hope that makes a few more ideas come up

probably more sentient than TALKY the Toaster.

Uh, gizmo was pretty bright. He was able to turn a rubber band and a
paperclip into a bow!

> As to it even decking - do you really think it would want to deck?

perhaps not 'deck' per se, but probably COMMUNICATE, which is what we
do. Decking, ie breakign into computer systems and stuff, requires
training, but communicating doesn't.

Well, i couldn't remember a name off hand, so I wasn't going to insult
anyone by guessing.

The point is, that if Fuzzball is inherently magical, pulsing the
datalines his way may be easier than plugging a jack into him (and a jack
could be so allergentic to it would kill him).

Uh, that's kinda bland. Sounds like Crush.

Fuzzball will probably LEARN our language. Fuzzball needs some more to
him though. How does it move, what's its gender (I'm saying him, but
only because that is a little more polite than it), does he have a
family, children, lover(s)? Where'd it come from and what's it want?
Hows it reproduce? Is it unique in existance or are there more like
him? Fuzzball is 'mondo-k00l', but just needs to be more than just a
fuzzy ball of fur, he must be a 'character'.

> Fuzzy - Sentient - along Gizmo/gremlins and cats/dogs lines

Gizmo leave cats and dogs behind in the dust! Gizmo is closer to a
very-fast learning chimp in terms of intelligence.

> understands human speach somewhat
> hears through fur - can't when wet

Make it totally telepathic except for childish cooing noise. When we
speak, it reads our speech via telepathy. It can direct 'speech' to
another, regardless of the magic of the target (sorta like the 'chat' spell).

> not a shaman - but innately magical

Empathy is dull. As for Shaman...yes, it might be inately magical, but I
see it following many of the 'nature' guidelines. Loves trees and birds
and animals, etc.

I have a pimple that is more intelligent than Talky.

UGGGHH

How's about between chimp and gizmo intelligence
and yes I realize that chimps are smart

it would also kill Nightfox. As to pulsing the data lines - well it looks like
I might have to explain Nightfox better again soon.

Whats wrong with that? CRUSH went to college - of course then he Changed

yes I agree - Fuzzy is Kool. ROll? Reproduce - asexaul? It was made?

HOws about empathic and understands parts of speach - ie its intelligent enough,
it just hasn't had that much experience

Yes to a connection with the world - but not a TRUE shaman - also the
experiments may have removed much of its magic

Thanks for the input. I've had some ideas that follow pretty closely to what
some of you have said. Right now he's pretty much a mystery so I'm not giving
much info on him on shadowtk.

Here's what I've got for ideas. It doesn't reproduce per se. Before it dies
it finds a nice magically active place and burrows down a few feet. It dies
then a few years later it resurfaces. Sort of like a pheonix but not nearly
as spectacular. So there really isn't much in the way of male/female.

He definately would not like any kind of cyber added so a datajack would be
out but I think a neural net, something placed around him, might work if we
could convince him to let us put it around him. Decking as in stealing data
or entering secured systems would be out of it's league but it would make
communicating a bit easier I think.

I hadn't thought of the idea of hearing with it's hair but I like it.

As far as magic, the expirements on him have pretty much drained him. So
don't expect any force 12 hellblasts :)

It's intelligence should be far and above dogs and cats. Maybe equal or
higher than Gizmos. It is normally very curious and doesn't always realise
the danger that might be inherent in a situation. Although it does learn
fast. Right now it's not to keen on Corps.

So for now not much is known or will be known until it gets better. We're
calling it Fuzz for now and probably will continue doing so. I'm thinking of
other things, more input would be appreciated.

Fuzz is a dull name. Sounds too much like you are talking about the
cops. Call it something like 'fuzzball' or 'furball' or 'fuzzy' or
somethign with two syllables. Fuzz is too much like 'Bob'. Blech. (and
yes, I'm named 'bob', so I can say that).

Hmm, I was thinking the name of the cat from Tiny Toon Adventures...

One other thing, take your time getting him 'online'. I mean, dont' ahve
it happen over one week. Spread it out over a month or two, let him grow
into sentience and communicating with everyone.
