>Uh, can someone please explain to me what the hell he/she/it is?
Easy. She's part expert frame, part ICE. She (it, I
hate calling her it) has small hidden taps into several databases
,libraries, etc. She is the security (real and virtual) on Harliquins
house in Everett. She's begun to develop a personality (*agh* kill it)
that is interesting to me and a few gamers in the group. Kinda like
Data (from ST:TNG) but more human, no body, and down right inquisitive.
And I want to keep her as far from MONICA as possible.
Did I mention that she is a program, but can travel nodes like a decker?
It isn't a munchkin. Merely my GM's way of giving me a headache. It
took G.G. (GM's retired decker) and Harlequin about four months _together_
to create this thing.

>And how come I con't have a cast entry for it (first place I looked).
The same reason I haven't logged Cyberpunk, Etherial/Lazinthgul,
or the members of TYR Securities. To many. And *most* times they
are just minor plot movers. However, maybe I should register it. She
seems to be cropping up more lately.
She posts weird because she's not AI (like toasty) or a true
decker. Ever seen ICE post before? Sorry if it causes headaches,
but I will change it if you want, it was just a distinguishing characteristic.

With the single exeption of Nightfox, I hate non-standard posting formats
(corporate positon tags are standard as far as I'm concerned).

Well partly because Rob and I have a deal. Nightfox actually does follow the
posting formats.

Little history lesson here.

Way back in the dark ages of late 92' Shadowtk was formed by a group of like
minded individuals from Shadowrn List. They had been creating story lines that
were taking up enormous amounts of band width on Shadowrn. To aleviate this
Fearless Leader Robert Hayden 'Voluntiered'(was suckered into) to head up a
second ShadowRun list call Shadowtk that would be interactive fiction.

The list was more succesful than anyone could hope, which lead to a big editting
problem. Not everyone was following the same format. Robert decided to make a
standard format so that he could use a batch editor or something (out of my
leaguge) to make editing easier.

Now at this time Nightfox had been using ***** to start his messages, (there is
an extremely LONG and Technical explanation for this that I would rather not
have to try and remember at this moment) anyway Rob decided that the easiest
way for Nightfox to be able to keep posting like this would be for the Encrytion
header to look the same as his beginner. So what came about was that *****
would go into the editor and be ok.

So, really, Nightfox does follow the heading formats as they were fput forward
at creation. His begin with ***** like an encryption and then they end in
-- Nightfox <time/date> like everyone else.

If you want to really know how to view Nightfox's messages - my concept is that
computers look at his things sort of like a system message (which is what an
encryption sort of is).
