Hi all,

I want to start contributing to TK but my stupid employer
puts this ridiculous disclaimer on the top of all my e-mails.

I imagine that this would be a major thwaping if I didn't
discuss this first. If I had an option of using a web based
account I would but I only have e-mail access through
my work account and we have not net access.

Is there anyway that the server can strip this disclaimer
off any of my posts to any of the dumpshock lists prior
to posting it?

I really want to contribute to TK but feel a bit discouraged
by the foul disclaimer.

Any assistance is appreciated.

just can't be good.... line four or five... the bit about "taking any

Yikes, that thing is ominous.

Eek, that sucks. You seem to be in the situation where you want to do the
right thing but circumstances are consipiring against you. :)

Let me think about that. I might be able to rig something up for you, but
in the mean time, consider that you have been given official permission to
post with that atrocious thing in place. :)

Mark, could you possibly rig up some Perl to skip anything before a valid
starting s-tk format? Stop rogue posters as well.....

I can do it in C if you like....

I can do it, it's just a matter of getting Mailman to work in conjunction
with it -- shouldn't be hard, an additional | in the email alias will
probably take care of it, I just need to play with it some.

Ok, it's implemented. The script will strip anything that appears before
a line that begins like:

>>>>>[
***** INTERNAL
***** PRIVATE
***** NOT-TO

Did I miss any of them?

If it doesn't find a suitable header anywhere in the message, it will
NOT pass the message on to the list, but will instead bounce it back to
the sender, telling them they have an error in their formatting. James
and I will also get a copy of all of the bounced messages so that we
should be able to catch things that bounce but should have passed through.

PLEASE let me know if you notice any problems with your posts making it
through to the list, since this filter is very experimental at the moment.

Thanks,
-Mark

I was under the impression that Renraku owned all the shops in it's mall one
way or another. If there was a big demand for something like 'Macdonalds'
(heaven forbid) then it would probably be run on franchise from Macs by Renraku
staff.

As for another corp, no other corps exist in the Renraku arcology, it's
Renraku's offices, living habitat for it's employees and mall. There are other
services it provides such as having the mono rail go right through it and having
several heli-pads for those short distant hops.

Yes there is someone listed as being in charge of the Arcology. But I can't
quite remember the name, he's in the Seattle source book and Secrets of Power

1) Stop typing in all caps.

2) Read the FAQ.

3) Ask to be on Plot-D, where "real-world" discussions about what to do
and how to do it are meant to go; instructions are in the FAQ which you
oh-so-thoughtfully read in step 2. If you have trouble, contact the
listowner; who has probably replied to you already but if he didn't, and
if for some reason you don't have the FAQ, reply to me and I will tell you
how to accomplish the above.

Sorry to those on Plot-D that it got sent to that list as well. I just typed
"plot" at the cc before I realized this person probably isn't there.

Lady(ies?) and Gentlemen,
I'm going to need some help for introducing a character, I need people who
are willing to have their characters talk about a person asking around for
the location of Solitaire. If you want to help get clearance from Brian
Angliss. Also, get in touch with me. This character will, also, be asking
for general information on Solitaire. I have a twist set up for this
character, and will show it at the proper time.
Later,

Hey guys, is there a problem with the Shadowtalk, or is it just me? I haven't
gotten anything at all from the board for a long time (since Tuesday evening),
and its really starting to bug me. I asked listserv about it, and it confirmed
my subscription, so I'm just wondering what the frag is goin on around here.
Is it just me? Is it a stretch of down time? Or is it something else entirely?
I'm still getting messages through this particular list so either post
responses here or send them to me personally. Being a new person around here,
I don't know what the frag I'm supposed to do about this. Any help at all
would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks again chummers...

Have you tried to e-mail Robert Hayden directly to ask hime what's going

even help you out as he's the admin.
There's really nothing that anyone on the group can do for you. Take it

Don't tell me to take the pill, guys... tell Chance. He's the one kicking the
fraggin' terminal all over the room. I don't want to get in his way (I don't
really like the taste of steel, myself. Don't want it on my digestive tract).

I have talked with Hayden, and he made a suggestion, but it hasn't worked. In
the meantime, I've been trying to keep up by reading the logs... but that
slows down my reactions to what is happening. It IS annoying, and I apolagize
for letting Chance loose like that, but all of us in here are starting to feel
a little boxed in, if you get my drift.

Robert, I tried, but it still isn't working. Do you have any other ideas? I
really want to get back into this.

BTW, what do you guys think of the way Chance is handling this (I mean, is
what I've come up with good for the current plotline, or is it really shooting
it all to hell? I don't want to cause too much trouble.)

Anyhow, I'll be around... please offer any suggestions you can think of.

Not so! One of the reasons this is so annoying is that I am NOT getting
Shadowtalk, while I AM getting Plot-D. That's why I'm so fraggin' annoyed. I'm
doing my best to fix the problem, but it doesn't seem to be working...

Can Plot-D's messages be sent out in Digest format? Also, I'm on
ShadowTK (in Digest mode), but also on TK-Log. If I unsubscribe from
ShadowTK, will I miss anything in getting the weekly logs from TK-Log?
I get all my mailing lists via GEnie, and it appears as Email
(GEmail), with each letter from the Internet having a page or so of
Internet gobbledygook at the top of the message. What I'm trying to
do is cut down on the amount of individual letters that I get, while
still getting the same information, ie. using Digests when available.
Any other suggestions, not just for ShadowTK and its related
lists, but for getting mailing list messages in general?
Any assistance is appreciated.

Oh, *wince* one more thing. Can anyone send me an up-to-date
comprehensive listing of all INTERNET RPG mailing lists? I need
Internet addresses, not UseNet or the like, unless the two lists
cross-over. For example, the MasterBook/Torg mailing list is both
`MasterBook@******.Monsta.com' on the Internet, but also
`alt.games.torg' on UseNet. In these instances, I need the Internet
address.
Take care, chummers...

Okay, I'm in the clear now, my account is back to normal.
Why is it that everybody on the list always chooses to take a break
at the same time my E-mail goes on the blink?

Murphy's law, I guess...

Anyway, I gotta maths exam right now, so I'm not gonna be posting nuthin'...

It's all right, everything seems to be sorted out. Stop sending stuff to my
sister now.

What was wrong? Was the list playing silly buggers, or was it just me?

Can someone send Wolfe a copy of the Newbie's Guide? :]

I'd send him some info, but I don't know the subscription info for PlotD
off hand (I seem to have misplaced the inof:( ), and I'm not sure if he's
here yet...

Anyways, thanks, and let's help the poor newbie out some...

*grin* Yeah... you like to do that, don't you? Mostly with helpful
comments like "Read this", IIRC...

Hm... someone got the EMail addy saved? Not Jaimie's, not Bull's, the
one of that newbie, of course :-)

Relax, Jamie... I think Sascha's just giving you a hard time...:]

IIRC is "If I recall Correctly"...

I believe Sascha was referring to that rather turbulent period when we
joined Shadowtk (The members if the IF:)), and had a few "problems" with
formatting, and you sent Sascha the FAQ 6 times in one day without
explaining just what he was doing wrong... We eventually got it worked
out, and i *think* there might be a slightly better FAQ now... But the
original one (Which we didn't get right away) wasn';t always real clear
about things...:]:]

Son't worry... It's all in fun...:]

How do I get into a game ?

Hi everybody,

I had planned 1 month ago to start an international plot, which I
detailed to some plot-d members ( a.k.a Jaimie N. and Paul. J Adams ).

The fact is that I had been suddenly over-occupied with my job, and I
wasn't able to ensure the consistency of the story. ( if you remember
of a Black-spider-Unit coming from France, that was the starting of
my plot )

Since I really would like this story to be developped on S-TK, Is
there someone interested to get my plot and develop it? ( What about
you Jaimie and Paul? )

I ask that because I feel I won't able to use this plot in the next
month. I must admit I am not really happy with that because I was very
enthousiastic to come back 2 months ago on STK, only to discover now
that I have no time to handle a plot myself.

I must restrict myself to be a plot-participant, and not a
plot-master. Note that I wasn't able to participate in any plot also
this last month, because I didn't had time also to read STK mails
too :(

I hope this will change soon. For the moment, I need some help.

Ben.

Can someone tell me the address to send commands to the listserver to? I
tried sending a message to plotd-request@********.itribe.net with a subject
and body of help but it didn't do any good. In particular, I'd like to turn
on the feture that copies _me_ on my own posts.

The commands are listed in the FAQ right below the subscribe/unsubscribe
