Yes, I do. And it would be possible. But...I have no time and no effort, as
I already am coding three MUDs. =) I think there is one, actually.

There have already been attempts at setting up various MUD, MUSH, MOO,
and whatnot in the M* domain of comp-gen 'universes' with a cyberpunk
theme. They're out there.... some are successful, some are not.

but we don't need .another. one.....

Just.... kind of as a request.... can we start to cut down on the encrypts?
Let's face it, this _is_ supposed to be Shadowland, not the entire Matrix;
'you're among friends here' and all that. I'm cutting down myself; the
exchange between Macros and his CO are obvious.

But let's do it, huh? Otherwise.... we're just playing in the dark, and
nobody can really add to anyone else's plotlines.

Good point --

You picked an interesting time to post openly with Macros and some
idiot from AZ. Yes, yes you did.

AH... 'you're amoung friends'? In Shadowland?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Remember - if YOU can get here - so can the corps!!!!!!!!
There is NOTHING keeping them out, NOTHING.
Also - there are many deckers who will GLADLY sell info to the corps
- they ain't YOUR friend.

Thats part of what encrypts are for!!! - To keep the CHARACTERS in the dark
while still letting the story flow and give people an idea of whats really
happening.

yes - sometimes they can be anoying, especially with a lot of senseless drival
between a few people each only taking up 3 lines. But it is ment to be there to
keep the private things private, and the non public things public.

I would suggest that a NOTATION be invented for sections of
conversations that are "not really being seen"..

Yes, well -- I thought the concept of ShadowLand was a shadowdecker-supported
'Free Zone' of the Matrix. Or, I guess, that's the idea I got off of the
Denver Book. Yes, corp deckers will get in -- Winter Rat, Nightfire, that
kind of person -- but they're not unlike the shadowdeckers that keep the
places _up_.

*shrug* It's a plea that's been made before, so I simply made it again. It's
up to YOU to decide whether or not YOU are going to do it. _I_, on the other
hand, _am_.

Remember ANY governmental, military, or corp. decker worth their salt can
break ewncryptions. Especially, 1) If they know particular styles of
encryption of the target characters, 2) If they've got the equipment to
decode it. So as a matter of fact, NONE of the characters are safe!

Basically Shadowland is a shadowdecker supported area where info can be gained
easily. It is free form thought with no restrictions - if you find info there
that you can sell to someone - more power to you.

It ain't no faerie land where all the deckers are pals and would never rat on
each other - but you should be careful how you rat on people - there are often
others on who are better than you.

Yes but - how will people know when not to come in and comment - Encypts are to
be like peoples thoughts in a book - the reader can see them and other plot
points but the other people do not know whats going on.

YES THEY ARE. Encryptions are not all that easy to break, but mostly they take
time. Sure if you know the encrytion tecnique - you will have an easier time.
But you still have to break it the first time.

Secondly - you have to know that the Message is there - it don't help to have
crypto-breaking eq if you never find the message.

Three - just how long will that message keep useful information? If it contains
info that joe Sam and friends will break into the biulding on Tuesday, and you
break it Thursday - it does you no good.

Remember - unless someone says "Yes you can break my encrypt" - then don't

Such a supposition is debatable. Howe'er, permit me to remind everyone:

Officially, NO ONE retains the ability, regardless of character, to break
the encryption protocol on another character's message without having first
obtained the permission of the author of said message.

Should this be violated, the person whose missive has been wrongfully read
may accordingly elect to seek the adjudication of the administrators.

Feel free to crap on Righteous and Dana. Come on! They broke the
"Shadowrunner's Code"! I still want to keep using their characters,
but that can definitely handle the slings and bows of mortality. Lets
get some background life going on here, like "Top ten ways to kill
that double-crossing cop-loving bastard Righteous". Not to mention,
you should all know that Righteous has cybereyes and a recorder. He
saw all of your characters at the Hallow'een party. Not to mention if
ANY of you discussed biz, theres the HIGH possibility that he might
have been listening in! Lets get some LIFE in here!

Not to mention, that Dana slitch was associating PRETTY freely with
virtually everyone. If she didn't hear something, then NOBODY did...

And is there going ANY mention of Gabriel and Jenna's bizarre
tendency of referring to themselves as a single unit? I mean, its
almost as if theres something similiar between JG and RD... *grin*

Sorry. Exam stress. I just want excitement and release.... =)

If that doesn't work, try substatuting "unsubscribe shadowrn" for the

And don't forget that there's no "u" in the list name... it's Shadowrn....

let me know if neither of those work, and I'll ask a couple others what it

Hey, I was replying to Jeff, but his reply:to field was overriding that of
the list and I just typed in an address and since it was a TK-related
subject...

Grr...hell, I always take a carping or a thwaping like a man. And recently
I've been getting quite good at it too.
