What, is this the independently wealthy Mr. Blackthorne? Try and use
encrypted next time so that at least things don't seem so incredibly
munchkin. Personnally, seeing a quarter of a million nuyen transfer between
2 street level characters (and if your not street level, why are you still
running?) leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Next time, I'll use the encrypt. Well Mr. Blackthorne, isn't really a
runner he does some running, but he oringionally started out as a fixer.
Besides would you run the Pueblo Matrix for less.

Mike,
Damn sorry I just looked at my own post, two of them in fact, it wasn't
suppose to be 250,000 =Y=, it was suppose to be 25,000 =Y=. My mistake
sorry, I got to start sleeping more. *cringes in fear of wet carps*

Whew. I'm _glad_ I'm not the only one who felt the taint
of munchkinism in that post. Thanks, Mike. :-)

Thank god. I thought it was kind of a lot.

As of last september (when I joined up), it seemed to be the general
agreement that if you are going to post an amount, encrypt it. And make it
apparent from your message (or just post to plotd) how extravagent the sum
is.

Mike some people, rich people, run the shadows for adventure,
excitement. Depending on the level of the game it may not be uncommon
for that much nuyen to pass hands.

My own character in our sit down game managed to buy out a failing
security firm and then use it as a front for the shadowrun team. The GM
has been very realistic in making me manage this company and I had to
hire outside help to make the company look legit.
Remember it depends on the type of game you run. I don't allow vamps
into mine that's a little munchkinish too me.

My 2 cents

_Depending_on_the_game_. That's precisely why Mike suggested
that >>encrypted<< be used .. that way people who play at
varying levels will not have an image of character X as a
munchkin, simply because we aren't used to your game world.

Lynch *is* independently wealthy... but he's also more than slightly crazy.
I remember reading in "The Short-Timers" (the novel they based 'Full Metal
Jacket' on) something like "Animal's a real nice, well-adjusted kind of
guy. All he needs is someone to throw grenades at him for the rest of his
life.", and that fits him quite well. Which is why he does what he does.
And actually enjoys it: in a grim way, he's happy at the moment.

He also has access to Agency funds, when on Agency business (like now).
How much? Well, who knows? I've played in a game where the PCs made
six-figure sums on every run, and in games where every downed enemy was a
chance to actually make money on weapons, armour, clothes, ammo, body organs,
whatever, because a Low lifestyle was a character goal... Hence, the
sum in question is >>encrypted<<. Enough to pay for a decent decker for a
fairly risky run, but everyone has a different definition of what that
amount is.

He walks up to the body, looking down. The corpse's head is torn apart, a
wet, smelly carp still writhing in the man's blood. The carp gun still
clutched with a frozen hand. One by one, he snaps the man's fingers,
freeing the deadly weapon. Looking at his work on TK, he sighs, and sits
cross-legged alongside the dead man.

"Errors, my friend... we all make them, and we must pay...", he says, as
he lowers the carp gun to his head, the barrel aiming straight at his
face, a twitching finger on the cold steel of the trigger. He can see the
carp's eyes, inside the gun, looking at him. Almost laughing, knowing
that the deadly pisces will claim yet another foolish victim. He presses
the trigger, his eyes closing, the dull THWAP ringing in his ears...

Then nothingness...

Sorry about the double post, guys... :)

Next time you want to THWAP yourselves, come to me, ok? I'll quite happily
provide you all with the Maxim Arms 165mm Firecarp Railgun, or, for those
special occasions when you REALLY, POSITIVELY, _HAVE_ to Thwap yourself,
one of Maxim's Thorcarps. All for a nominal fee, payable in advance to N.
M. Velli, or her VP of Carp Sales, B. E. Angliss.

Hmmm.... That makes for an interesting question:

Would a carp ionize in a solenoid quench rifle? If so, your Firecarp
would only be twapping someone with carp _plasma_ instead of real carp, so
I am not so sure that is in keeping with the spirit of the carping. And
do you have any idea what an ionized, hypersonic carp would smell like?
Turns my stomach just thinking about it.

Besides, why buy from Velli, when for a nominal fee one can rent Fuchi's
Koi no Ame carp launching battlesat.
