Part of the list's decline, IMHO, is that there are way too many cool things
to do in way too short of a period. I actually have story ideas, I just
don't have the bandwidth to investigate them. I personally blame my
computer.

I only found out about the list (frighteningly long ago) by accident. I had
a friend who was investigating listservs at the time and let me leaf through
the list. It seems to me, if we could find a way to better advertise the
list, we might have some interest from outside people.

The most obvious one (that comes to me at the moment) is to talk to FASA
about having a link to Shadowrun related sites on their website and have a
link for us with an ability to read some highlight stories from the past,
with a way to do hook line and sinker sales pitch to draw them in.

Otherwise there are newsgroups but I've often wondered about the quality
factor when doing that.

In truth, to draw others, you need to have some sort of story going that
would involve others. I unfortunately, really haven't had the time to open
up my stories (or even post remotely enough to keep them going).

FASA has no plans to do this. They apparently think that a link to external
sites means that they endorse the site, and while I can understand their
position to a degree, I want links from fasa.com to my site, damnit! :P

Yes, indeed

A problem in more than way, as I for one reading that shy away from
participation.

Not only would a story like that help in introducing new characters, but
some characters which are not on this list since the eve of time would be
fitting too. thought about maybe eventually starting a story too but have
yet to gather the courage to do it. Lots of things have been written on
this list and there were times whe I couldn't wait for the next post to
arrive, but on the same hand this quality leads to a certain reluctance in
participating, as not to lower the standard, as I perceived it.
Returning some sort of ongoing "get to know"-story or new storys, my
problem is that there is a certain difficulty in creating a story that
isn't parallell to the existing TK-Universe insofar as only new people act
and the plot is unlinked to anything else.

In short: if anyone would lend me a hand I'd be happy to think of
something
