Neo-Anarchist's GT the Awakened is a sourcebook slated for next August, the
text of which is available for playtest in FASA's playtest area on AOL. It
covers voodoun, physical adepts, physical (yep, you heard me) magicians, and
more dirt on playing the role of the magically aware without being boring.

The reason I ask (more than anything) is that I put a whole lotta effort into
creating a background and persona for this character and would really like a
chance to use him.

On the other hand, it hasn't *made* it into print just yet. Like I said, its
slated for August. But he's my devotion of the moment... I will, however,
stand by any judgement calls folks make.

Yes, I got the FAQ & all, but I was just wondering if there was a way a
person could break into this without promptly killing someone's storyline.
I'm getting the impression that the best way to do it is just to poke a head
up and say "Hey!" So that's what I'll do, though I won't use my houngar
(voodoo shaman) until I'm given the go ahead.

BTW, no offense meant -- I wasn't implying anyone was moving slow or
anything. Just that I wanted to shift into high gear *immediately*.

Sometimes people don't want outsiders in on thier plots. Some folks don't mind
at all. I'm kinda in the middle.

As to the stuff on running a houngan, I already have one running, although it's
not really fair to say that she's from official FASA stuff. I adapted the
White Wolf Voodoo rules from Issue 34 and used them here. So as far as I'm
concerned, bring him in and enjoy!

OOH! As Homer Simpson would say, "Gummi Venus de Milo!" Well,
translated it means, "Could I have one too?"

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That was a good episode, wasn't it? I particularly
liked the part during the opening theme where they chase the couch into
oblivion...

1. just what is a physical magician ?
2. is this coming this August - or August 96?
3. How long will it be on the play test node? - I have 10 free hours or AOL
coming from my dads new computer
4. how do you get to FASA's site?
5. Are they looking for any new ideas - like stuff we have sent to NERPS?

Use him actively if - he is well thought out and about as powerful as any other
character

Use him as a plot device if - he is over powered but is needed to get things
going along or for commentary (like I use Seraphy)

Don't use him if - he is way over powered but you still want to have him as
a main character

ok - thats what he is - it would probably help if I read ahead sometimes

I agree with Brian - go ahead and try it. IF things don't work out the way you
want, don't mention those parts.

Actually - we are sort of slow moving.

Has anyone seen this stuff on AOL and can someone upload it so we all
can? I would like to get a look at what they are doing. Thanks.

I do not think anyone should post NAGA to the lists as FASA is not ready to
release it to the general public. A review of it would not be harmful, but
posting NAGA without FASA's permission would be a serious breach in
etiquette.
I am getting access to FASA's playtest area, so Daniel, I will try to answer
some of your questions.
1) You must have an account on AOL.
2) To get access you must e-mail FASA's representative on AOL. His username
is "FASA Mike". You must show interest in FASA's products. He will e-mail
you back stating whether or not you got access or not, and it will probaly
take a few days for it to take effect.
3) Go to the keyword "gcs" and go to Playtest Area, then go to FASA
Corporation folder.

I thank you for your support,
Tom Craig

Mail from the author suggests that the following things are true:
distribution to people who specifically request the book, agree to email
SKenson@***.com or FASA with playtest comments, and WILL NOT upload the text t
o ANY SITE which can be then downloaded from are allowed to receive a copy.
I will UUEncode the PKZIP file (2.04g) and pass it to the first person who
posts & agrees to these specific terms. But I cannot take responsibility for
uploading sixty-leven copies of this puppy: I just don't have the money to
pay for the time it will take to send them. Someone with better control of
file distribution (who will volunteer to distribute to others) should post
and take this burden on. Or work out an elaborate "hot potato" transfer
scheme (Joe's got it, Fred's got it, sign up on the list...) It doesn't
matter so long as everybody agrees to these terms.
Honestly, there are more file accesses to the book than there are comments in
the messaging (and I've done a dozen or more myself...) *BUT* let's make this
experiment work, OK? So that next time they won't say no?

The NAGA zipfile has been passed on to two people now:
rogers@****.uiuc.edu
tcd@******.digex
So long as you don't plan on uploading this onto a server and you don't mind
making some playtest comments to SKenson@***.com, they should be able to get
this to you.
The file is a little over 100k zipped, a little over 200k unzipped.
Enjoy.

It is also in MSword format until I get the chance to convert it to Ascii. I
suspect that Ascii is better for net people than MSWord.

I will be able to distribute both formats soon.

before you send it out - can you include skenson@***.com in the document
(if it isn't in it already) and any other relavant information.

I plan on giving a lot of input - especially since I have 10 free hours
of AOL coming to me over christmas (dad bought a computer)

HEh - and I may get ther money to get a real computer sometime.
