Hello

I've subscribed and have been "lurking" in PLOT-D and shadowTK
for a while now (haven't even created a charachter yet) and have dicided to
"test the waters". So here goes.

I was thinking of starting up a plot but with only myself as the "main"
charachters. I live in Calgary, Alberta which in SR is in
Alquinkian-Manitoo Council lands, and not far (if the map is correct
enough, about an hours drive) from the Athabaskan council lands and
Salish Shidhe. Not to mention the dragon Dunkelzhn living in Lake Louise.

I would like to ask some questions (and get input) first:

1) I gather shadowTK has been around for about 4 yrsand some plot devices
would become *real* boring. Is this true of the insect totems? Has it
been "flogged to death".

2) From my lurking here things seem to happen in Seattle most of the
time. Would people be receptive to a story happening in *my* neck of the
woods? Would there be any kind of limitations on what I could do
(understanding that the SR source books are *almost* law :>)?

3)I have more questions but I'll start with this for now.

2 years, and about 2-3 months. And I've been here for all of it :)

Try and hold off - there will be more insect info for plots once BUG CITY
comes out this next week. :)

Canada - well, make it interesting - and people will get interested.

The Books - the books are a common basis - if you will be greatly contradicted,
don't bother with it. Otherwise - the books are a common law with lots of
leniency to new ideas if they are reasonable.

>3)I have more questions but I'll start with this for now.

Ok. And the best overall answer is to have for you to have fun while making
things fun for the other list members. Use both imagination and restraint when
making plotlines and ideas. Anyone can play a very powerful character, but it
is the characters who seem most alive that people like.

They also tend to like humor - like speaking Toasters who live to toast. :)

Yes, the toaster (what did CRUSH ever do with the darn blasted
thing). Its best if not mentioned. The toaster is an AI that
wants to discus grain products and why your not eating enough
of them. (Ever read/watch Red Dwarf? Its Talky the Toaster...
ooooh >delete< I said its name...) If you mention its name
it usually haunts you for a while. It was great for gags...
but it hasn't been heard from in....oooooooh eight months at least.
For better or worse. *GRIN*

Thanks Herr Dr. Doom, I needed that, and it was
nice to see that you even edited the name out of
my post (when you quoted) so that it isn't reciprocal.

Not to be confused with Bread Product. And that which
shall not be named.
