Sheesh, people, you're ignoring my stuff!

I'm attempting to get a plot going. The bottom of the last Solonus/
Quickling correspondence included, publicly, a message requesting runners,
for
MULTIPLE runs. And they don't even have to be the same.

Anyway, first of all, is there anyone that, at least, can get Solonus
back to Chicago? Mail me if they can, it's private to "Jack" I think (alt-
ernate persona program...) if you want to send it that way. Besides that,
I could use runners for the other stuff...wetwork, extractions...

I've missed about a day's worth of messages, so, sorry 'bout that...
(By the way, someone told me that I won the competition to get rid of
SoG. `Zat true? If so, mail me about it, willya? - Whoever's running SoG.
email: csc086@*****.lancs.ac.uk)

DeDannan will be available for runs in a day or two. At the moment, he's in
Portland, Tir Tairngire. (Funnily enough _his_ abscence coincides with _my_
absence... ;)
He'll be back, ready and raring to go in a day or two...
As far as runs go, you better see his character description, which is
enclosed, both for you and anyone else who is interested.

If you're not interested in DeDannan, Stop Reading NOW, coz this description
is long and detailed. You have been warned. So don't bitch at me about long
postings. Quit and delete instead.

Character list descrip:

Diarmuid Mac Aonghusa (pron."Djeer-mud Mak Ayn-gus-ah") was born near Brugh na
Boinne in Tir na nOg, in 2002, although, he only looks about 20. Tall, with a
shock of black hair, he generally wears denims and a leather jacket and has
travelled extensively: UK, Tir Tairgire, CalFree...An expert in Matrix software
he has worked with many of the big research groupsand is rumoured to have been
involved in Echo Mirage. He follows his own karma. Icon: Elven Celtic Warrior.

Full descrip:

DeDannan - real name Diarmuid Mac Aonghusa.

DeDannan is a fifty three year-old spike baby elf, born in the immediate
vicinity of Brugh na Boinne, which is very near Tara, in Tir na nOg. He was
born of elven parents, also spike babys, who are both mages... the mana around
the Brugh is _very_ high... DeDannan himself has no magical capability, and
felt slightly uncomfortable because of this major difference between him and
his parents. He studied Computer Science at Trinity College in Dublin, and at
Dublin City University, and left Ireland upon leaving Uni with a PhD, becoming
a wanderer - he's lived in the UK, Tir Tairngire, Aztlan, Calfree, and has
travelled even further.
He doesn't get on too well with his father, who is Captain of the Guard at
Tara, and never approved of his son studying computers, or, indeed, leaving
Tir na nOg... His mother, although disappointed in the path of life he chose,
misses her only son, and it is for her sake only that he visits his home at
all...

His natural talent is decking, and he has a SIN describing him as a freelance
research assistant, specialising in Matrix software and Matrix-related
cyberware - basically, if it has to do with running the Matrix, he's worked in
it... He's worked for various research groups, including FuchiUK, Transys
Neuronet (he knew Quicksilver), Renraku and Soriyama, plus others, possibly.
He was part of the Echo Mirage team, having been recruited from the private
sector (Although, he doesn't exactly broadcast this fact to everyone he meets).
He is an excellent deckers, for three reasons:
His experience, his technical knowledge and and his equipment.

He's very much a guy who chooses his own way, but is fiercely loyal to his
friends... He is au fait with the Tir na nOg elves, as his parents are
members of the Seelie court.. He is well known in elven circles, and, due to
his habit of not bothering with other people's affairs unless they directly
affect him is in noone's bad books. He is loyal to the people he has worked
for - He may appropriate their latest tech and designs for his own use, but
_only_ for his own use. Even though he may no longer work for a company,
and, indeed, may be at odds with them, to the extent that they would almost
like to see him dead, he will refuse to divulge information about their
operations, even though he may take on a job that leads him on a Matrix
run into their system.

This strange sense of morals and loyalty means that companies, knowing that
they have been unable to persuade DeDannan to betray their rivals, for whom
he has worked, know that he shan't betray them, either. Thus, he is a true
freelancer, going from corp to corp, without need for extraction, or
constraints.

An enigmatic individual, he follows his own karma, and noone knows where that
may lead him next...

When he left Ireland, he went to the UK, and worked with Transys Neuronet in
the South of the country for a while, before being enticed across to America
as part of the team working on the IBM/Apple/Motorola partnership project
known as VirtuOS, which was the forerunner of the cybernetic interface
operating system we use today.
His time in University left him feeling uncomfortable outside such an
environment, which probably explains the attraction he felt for working in the
research divisions of corps, and his stint at MIT as a research associate.

He was working for Unisys in 2029, when he was recruited into Echo Mirage.
On 15th of August, 2029, the Echo Mirage team engaged the Virus, which was,
at that time wreaking havoc on the Grid, the world's computer network, born
out of the unification of the many networks that had built up during the late
20th and the first decade of the 21st centuries. DeDannan, as a junior member
of the team, was following, rather than leading when the team encountered the
Virus, and he attributes his survival to this fact. After the defeat of the
Virus, he once again joined the private sector, this time working with Fuchi.

In 2036, after several years working privately for various companies in the
States developing the new Matrix technology, he returned to the UK, and worked
with Fuchi U and, Transys Neuronet, and spent a while as a research associate
at Cambridge University. During the late '30s and the first half of the
forties, he travelled extensively, and got his first experience of the shadows
in Denver, which, at that time was similar to what Berlin was like during the
Cold War.
He first arrived in Seattle in 2041, as assistant designer for the fledgling
Renraku Arcology Matrix system, which, at that time, was slaved to the
construction of the Arcology, and has since been replaced with a system
more suited to the Arcology's present functions.

After several more years of travel, he returned to Seattle in 2047, to work on
a Matrix software project with MCT. In January, 2048, he was "exposed" as an
NSA mole, covertly investigating MCT's dealings with the Yakuza, and he was
forced to flee the corp for fear of his life, and go underground for a time.
After several months, his name was cleared by MCT security, and his accuser
was executed for corporate treason, having attempted to place the blame for
his own industrial espionage on DeDannan. However, DeDannan had run the
shadows during his time underground, and he developed a taste for shadowrunning.
He worked in Seattle for another two years, or so, alternately freelancing on
corporate research projects and shadowrunning as a top decker, who also packed
a pretty mean Ares Predator...

Towards the end of 2049, he was made redundant when the company he was
developing ASIST interfaces for was taken over by Aztechnology. and he entered
the shadows full time for several months before the wanderlust took control of
him yet again, leading him once again to the UK, where he alternately ran the
Matrix, and did legitimate work for multi national corps. Most recently, he's
been working for Transys Neuronet again in Scotland, and has decided to return
to Seattle to get away from the labs, and research, looking to do something
practical with his knowledge, instead of researching biochips and matrix
software algorithms, i.e. run the shadows, and, perhaps, keep up his
legitimate front, including it's SIN, with a few jobs here and there,
freelancing as a troubleshooter and systems designer.

His deck is probably his greatest asset... It's been built up from a Fuchi
Cyber 7, with bits added on over the years, so much so, that little of the
original deck remains... Having worked with many of the top tech corps'
research divisions, he had access to excellent workshops, and the best tech
around! To say that his deck is unique is no exaggeration, and one would be
hard-put to purchase a better model off the shelf.

He is cybered, but in a discreet way -
Datajack, two Chipjacks (which he utilises to their fullest advantage...),
Skill hardwires (Rating 4), Boosted reflexes (Level 1),a smartlink,
Display Links, and DataSoft Link.

He generally dresses casually, generally wearing sneakers, jeans, with a
denim shirt and a battered brown leather jacket, or sometimes a trench-coat
if the weather demands. For formal, corp occaisions, he tidies himself up,
and dons clothing somewhere between that of his usual garb and that of a
Mr. Johnson. He is tall (just over two meters) and thin. He has a shock
of black hair, and often sports a two-day old beard, which, combined with
his uncombed ahir, and his casual appearance give him the air of a
devil-may-care type individual.

He is a wanderer by nature, and, for him, an apartment is simply a place
to store one's belongings and sleep in, occaisionally. He probably
places more store by his car, a kingfisher blue Lotus Elan 5000 SE,
which he bought in England, and had shipped over to Seattle, than in his
"home", as he claims that he has no permanent home.
His main pastime is, of course, computers, but he also listen to music,
favouring the more classic styles of musicians such as Beverly Craven,
Guns 'n' Roses, Queen, and others from the 1980's and '90s.
He drinks, but not to excess, and doesn't smoke.

His main skills are in Stealth, Athletics, Computer Theory, Computer and
Cybertechnology, with secondary skills in Leadership/Etiquette, Firearms.
He packs chips for several combat skills such as sniping and unarmed combat.
He shuns the physical side of shadowrunning, naturally, as he lacks both the
skil and the mucle for the heavy stuff. Instead he prefers Matrix running or
riding shotgun on intrusion runs. The only exceptions to taking part in
physical runs are intrusions to access a cold store mainframe, or a system
that is too well guarded from the outside. Otherwise, he will choose to act
as lookout, or sniper coverman.

His contacts are mainly in the hardcore decking areas of the corps and the
shadows, along with extensive elven connections.

It isn't ofen that you find someone as honest or as trustworthy as DeDannan
in the shadows. Those who know him value his friendship, and he makes a
conscious effort to not make enemies. His reasons for running aren't easy to
fathom. He could probably make a good living as a researcher, but that life
lacks the excitement that shadowrunning offers. When asked why he runs the
shadows, his answer is, invariably:

"For kicks."

Well, there he is. If you don't like him, please don't post
to this list, as it is not the place for such discussion. My
email address is below.

The sources for this character include the characters that I.
myself have played at various times ( I invariably play an
elven decker ), and a certain element of my own personality,
tempered with a justification for his abilities, and a detailed
background that makes him more than just another matrix icon.

Even though I'm a newbie to plot-D and Shadowtalk, I do have a character, BIGHO
RN, who can do the job..
