Subject: Panglobal Arms information

For all of you who are interested in doing things with Panglobal (and there
are several of you thus far), here's some basic information, the kind of
stuff that good deckers doing information searches would come up with.

First off, while every player knows it's AJ's new arms group, it should be
pretty tough to connect it to AJ for a while. Sure, there's going to be a
lot of people guessing, and guessing correctly, but there really shouldn't
be anything solid enough to connect them...yet.

Officially, Panglobal Arms is headed by a wealthy, intelligent, and
powerful smuggler/pirate, George Patakh, operating out of the Congo. He's
brutal, but rarely needlessly brutal, and very good at what he's doing.
It's not at all unreasonable for such a man to have successfully "bought
out" or killed off the heads of all the African arms groups which have been
brought into the Panglobal fold, and in fact form the foundation of
Panglobal.

Panglobal's strongholds are Africa, where Panglobal is the most powerful
and could be the largest piracy/ smuggling/arms dealing group on the
continent, the Middle East, where Panglobal is aggressively expanding and
has grown significantly due to thier ability to supply large quantities of
arms to the various warring ethnic groups (like the Shiites and the Sunis,
the Kurds, various militant Jewish groups, etc) and terrorists, Australia,
the Nordic countries of Sweeden and Norway, where Panglobal supposedly has
a major stockpile of weapons that is feeding into Europe, and western
Russia. This doesn't mean that they control the market, not even close,
only that they're powerful enough in these areas to be hard to remove.
Most of Panglobal's strength in these areas is because George Patakh has
contacts and friends with the leadership of the smuggling/dealing groups
which are now "officially" part of Panglobal.

Panglobal is expanding into all markets seriously, and they've already made
inroads into South America (down around Argentina and Chili, specifically),
India and Pakistan (feeding the hatreds by supplying weapons to the
Kashmir), and the British Isles, France, and Spain. They're having
troubles with Japan, SE Asia and China, and a good amount of North America
(the CAS is going slowly, but Panglobal has only a few markets in the NAN
and UCAS, and the Carribean League is downright unpleasant. And we won't
even talk about Aztlan). They're expanding largely by buying out the
competition's leadership, or assassinating it if they won't sell, or even
by the tried and true methods of muscling in on territory or filling a gap
in the market.

Panglobal Arms is primarily an arms dealing/acquisition/transportation group.
They deal in just about everything, including vehicles, heavy weapons,
explosives, armor, spare parts, fuel, etc. If it's military or weapon
related, they'll officially deal in it. Now, they haven't dealt in
chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons yet, but there's no official
policy not to deal in them. And no, not all chemicals qualify as chemical
weapons (such as standard poisons like cyanide or drugs) Unofficially,
people who want to buy those goodies are given the runaround, told that
acquiring them is expensive and problematic, and that they'll generally
cost about a billion+ nuyen down and 10 billion+ nuyen on delivery. That
generally puts the buyer into a mood to go elsehwhere for such items.

Now, we all know that AJ's running the show, and that he's making this huge
of a jump this quickly by consolidating the parts of his prior Organization
that weren't destroyed. Thus the strongholds were places where the
original Org was left mostly intact, and the areas like Japan and the UCAS
are where the Org was pretty much completely destroyed. But that aspect of
it, while suspected, should take some time to become "common" knowledge.
SIGA knows it now, because they guessed right and AJ admitted it to
Coppinger, who has been requested to keep it personal knowledge rather than
SIGA official knowledge. Maxim will figure it out eventually, but not for
a while. Other megacorps should figure it out about the same time Maxim
does (they're all preoccupied with the same things, after all). One of
AJ's old enemies has guessed that it's AJ, but evidence will be supplied
which will hopefully throw him off the track for a little while. And most
of the rest of the list will probably figure it out gradually, as AJ
suddenly "comes into" the money he needs to get the clinic back up, for
example.

Questions, comments?

Brian
