Alright, I've had this idea for a story bouncing around in my head
for a year or two now:

How would the ShadowRun world feel about a completely genetically
engineered life form being introduced? I'm looking to write a short
story (maybe something longer if I can get off my duff) that
introduces a genetically engineered animal (a lot like the hints that
have been dropped about the grey wolves and sirens in the Tir
sourcebook). The critter would be intelligent, and designed by a
ziabatsu to act in a wide area conflict.

I'd make sure that all of the potentially "dangerous" plot devices
were wiped out (the hardware used to build the critter's genome, the
information, probably a few of the people involved in it's building,
etc), so as not to destabalize the world.

*grin*

I'm basically taking a poll here:

Do you think it would damage SRun as a game if a genetically
engineered creature were introduced (and I'm not talking about from
scratch either, the critter would be a mish-mash of already existing
technologies)?

Whatever shoots yer boot. At least you gave us warning of it...and told us
what you plan on doing. Most don't even bother doing that, we just grab our
plotlines and start shooting...:)

I'd be interested in seeing genetically engineered lifeforms. Look
at all the starange viruses that exist in the ShadwRun world. VITAS,
etc. I'd have to say that Sasquatches, and even Vampires (to a
point) are naturally genetically mutated lifeforms. Why couldn't
science do something similar.

Go for it. I'd like to be involved somehow, just so I can get back
into a storyline.
