Small World!!!
I think I played it about the same time (although it was a one off back
then, being an early teen at the time I was more interested in AD&D...)
I recently rewrote it for a more experienced team and scared the living sh*t
out of all of them!

How much information into the background of this plot can be found on the
'trix by a determined, well equipped and very talented decker who knocks up
Rating 8 Data encryption for fun?
(I am of course refering to Archangel (m))
I'm thinking a list of legitimate bio-weapons projects, ones the corps are
operating on the quiet...etc
Purchases in the last [time period] of equipment used in the creation of
biocultures, waldos, HazMat suits and drones, high yeild Agar...etc
Files/dossiers including Psych profiles of biologists and biochemists with
the knowledge to make bioweapons.
Perhaps even personal diaries written by such people, the ones who do that
sort of stuff on their cyberterminal and don't think about people who deck.
Lists of newsfeeds which might link in (including The Crete's hijack
(although nothing special))

Depending on what is going to be available Stranger will dispatch a dossier
to Lynch containing that info. hey, there might even be stuff they haven't
picked up on yet.

BTW Note the reference to Eagle, Stranger is not a shaman but he does have
some almost background magical talents, he can for example go on spirit
quests (with the assistance of a little awakened tobacco). And he can read
omens, nothing specific but people have learned to duck when he mentions
that he has "...a bad feeling about this."

I hope that the omen worked for everyone.

The reason by the way that I'm writing this so long after I posted the
paydata/omen mail is that I suddenly thought of something.
I hope that the reference to the plasteel wall in the sewers isn't a
problem, it just suddenly occurred to me when I came to the end of the mail.
For those of you that don't recognise it I'm listing the original source at
the bottom of the mail (under spoilers just in case anyone doesn't want to
know where it came from.)

DNA/DOA, as I say, it just occurred to me; an azzie bio-research facility,
where else have I come across that...

You know the worst thing?

Not only do I recognise it, but it was Lynch's first adventure back in
1989. (The reason he's such an experienced old hand is that he _is_ :) )

That was Neuron Basher's first run too, coincidentally enough... :)

I thought that sounded familier.

<chuckle> at least your stealing from the classics :)
