I was wondering about whether there are any rules about posting in a foreign
language (the language I have in mind is Gaelic) on TK instead of using
encryption, and, perhaps, including a translation of the posting, so that
characters who can actually understamd that particular language would know
what was being written - it's more of a sort of atmosphere-thing than anything
else - Valentine and DeDannan both speak Irish fluently, and it would be in
character for them to communicate in Irish, sometimes...

By the way, it occured to me, that it might be interesting to set up a run on
TK, and actually roleplay it out on irc, log the session, and post the edited
log to TK as video footage. Obviously, only characters who's owners have
access to irc would be able to take part, and, once the actual roleplaying
part had begun, there would be a danger that some characters would die..

What do the established players think of this?
It's just something I was wondering about...

The different languages was done already by Brian a little while ago, I kinda
liked it. STREETWOLF and crew can also speak Irish Gaelic very well, better
than English in fact. And with the IRC that was also tried but never worked
out, we didn't actually roleplay it out but it was suggested for plot
discussions without the long delay.
Those are just my thoughts.

Yeah, but my different languages used random words from French, German,
English.Japanese, and Gaelic from song lyrics that I reassigned meanings to to
fake
Ancient Sperethial(with some FASA approved Sperethial thrown in for good
measure). It had sentence structure and some very subtle meanings(like the
word for Spirit was also the French word for dog, chien) and stuff like that.

And it was a pain. I thought it worked well, but it took forever. I'd do it
again if I thought it was vital for the plot like I did at the time, but not
just everyday posts. However, I don't mind throwing a little Gaelic into my
posts for the fun of it(if I can get some translations, hint hint :)

I am unaware of any official rules regarding foreign languages on
ShadowTalk. However, translations are suggested for lengthy passages.

I, myself, plan to implement a lengthy German conversation in the finale
of my present ShadowTalk plot . . . should it ever be brought to completion.
