Aw...crap. So much for my multi-year streak of no formatting errors. And
I'm usually good about deleting any excess after I reply. :/ Any chance a
web-based system would correct for this? Most web-mailers and news
browsers still allow you to reply-to and will include and carrot the
previous message.

The web-based system that I envision will completely eliminate formatting
errors, so yes. :)
