To those involved in rescuing Ronin from the clutches of Renraku, how's the
planning going? Remember, he'll be dead by sunday or monday. Consider this
an urgent enquiry from Phoenix, in the flesh.

We also need a standard format for watchers, how about this:

*****Watcher (shape): Recipient name
>>>>>[Message.]<<<<<
-- Conjuror name <time/date of arrival>

I would suggest leaving out the shape of the watcher in cases where it
doesn't matter. Also, the little buggers could probably be persuaded not to
say who conjured them, making the "conjuror name" bit optional as well.

Uhhhhmmm... The nonstandard formats are already starting to get to the
point where they get hard to remember (there's at least two =). Not to
mention, after a certain point, irregular formats start to become a crutch
for crappy writing.

Why not just have the conjuror report to somebody else?

Hmmm. You obviously don't understand what this board is, do you? The only
reason we have the "internal" flag is because a shadowland node might be
used as a relay point in inter matrix communications. Yeah, the important
stuff that we (the writers) see probably wouldn't happen, but doesn't matter
because at least it's till an matrix info transfer between to partys. So
the question is, what the fuck is a watcher doing on here? If you want to
have a watcher (who never come near the matrix) to post something, try and
find another way. There is a certain amount of suspension of disbelief on
this list, however, we are working within a certain paradigm, that this is
the ShadowLand matrix board. Try and go with that.

No. Watcher's don't use the Matrix. Period. If you want to
tell the world what a watcher reported to you, do it some other
way.

Before asking yourself whether something could be posted as internal, ask
yourself this, is it something that happens between two or more partys that
would travel over the matrix? A watcher talking to someone wouldn't. There
you go.

But for storyline sake sometimes it's good just to throw that stuff out
there. I am certainly interested in hearing/reading about things that a
Watcher might pass on. Maybe my characters don't know but it certainly makes
for interesting reading.

Also maybe someone recorded the conversation and then sent it over the
Matrix.

Good, then report it that way. Don't go and put half assed stuff on the
list when it doesn't fit within the list writing parameters. Post it as a
recorded conversation, not as a conversation that is happening.
