What is the story with our latest little damsel in distress? I trust that
she's not _really_ a little girl? And what sort of precautions were taken to
conceal the manner in which the message was posted to Shadowland?

Cool, pullayap. (OK, so I'm not the greatest speller in the world!)
Anyway, Valentine(or Pat, whichever), a fourteen year old girl, blond and
in a blue dress(read here, old school uniform style thing) and middle aged
woman in an overcoat and sunglasses approach Haven, walking. What do you
do?(or your guards)

I would like to pay the place a visit with a low-observable reconaissance
drone. Are the curtains of the room open, and are there any electronic
anti-surveillance measures in effect? Also, are there any other interested
parties roaming around (priority number one is avoiding contact with
hostiles).

Actually, Pat was going to meet them at the bus station, but we can work
that out as necessary.

If Pat(yes, Patrick is Valentine's real-world name) meets them at the
station, he will greet them politely, and then usher them to his car. It's
a Ford Americar. He will put the mother in the front with him and Sarah in
the back, unless one or the other complains about the seating. He will
then drive from the bus station to Haven.

Haven is an old building, refurbished brick and concrete and granite
surrounded by a bright white picket fence. I could go into a full
description, but I won't at this point.

Pat would pull around back to a small garage where he parks the car, helps
Sarah and her mother out of the car, and escorts them into the building,
through several hallways, and into his office. He'll close the door, and
then sit down and start talking about what has happened. After chatting
for a bit, he'll stand up, and have someone outside escort Sarah to a place
where she can get some rest. He'll try to separate Mom from Sarah for a
few minutes so he can talk to her alone.

If Mom and Sarah come in via foot, then Pat will come out to meet them
escort them inside, where everything proceeds as above.

The only guards in the area are outside the fence, and they are gangers
armed with pistols. Yes, they are really gangers, not security guards in
disguise, and their primary duty is to keep peace in the streets. No-one
else is armed.

Around the apartment, nothing that seems out of the ordinary. As you are
about to leave, a your girl(maybe fourteen) and her apparent mother exit
the room and head(if you bother to follow) to the bus station. They buy a
ticket to wherever haven is(I forgot, way to early to be responding to
this, heh heh).

I know the feeling. =)

Just out of curiosity, are you planning anything major for what the father is
up to?

At some point you or your associates will notice that the mother has a
fichetti 500a in her purse. She is keeping it as defense(stolen from a
security guard). She doesn't pull it out unless threatened and even then
has very very low dice(1). Otherwise things go as planned. The mother
talks about her husband and that he was a prominent matrix engineer and
scientist for the company. She has no clue as to why he left so suddenly
or the guards came looking for him.

Maybe, haven't truly decided yet. I know what he knows can do something,
but whether it does is up to the players.

Actually, the weapons detectors at the back door would have spotted it. At
this point, Val would have explained the no-weapons policy inside the
building and would have asked her to give the gun to him.

He would also explain that Haven has many students who are members of gangs
who often are involved in blood feuds, so any weapon inside the building
would be a violation of rules and could lead to violence. And he simply
won't allow violence inside the building under any circumstances. He will
tell her that there is nothing to fear inside Haven, and no harm will come
to them and will explain that, if she would like, he can have a spirit or
two watching over her and Sarah at all times.

A spirit? Like, magic? Oh no, thats OK, thank you anyway though. I'd
prefer the gun, at least I can use that. But if it's not allowed in the
building I guess a spirit would work, but please have a nice one? :)

There is a strict no weapons policy, although you can certainly have it
back whenever you leave the grounds. And Mom won't even know that the
spirit is there. Unless you want it to, of course. :)

Actually, Val think's it's unnecessary for a personal guard, but he figured
that you might feel better knowing that there is one there if you want it.

The daughter feels much better, the mom is kinda wary of magic. The only
thing she has ever experienced is corp Wage Slaves.. As for the daughter,
she has been spared much unpleasentness :) She'll give you the gun :)
