Sorry, I'm in on the Virtfun thing but it's something I know almost zip about.
We're hired by Drake/etherial to do What exactly? It's a little difficult to
post when I haven't been kept up with what's going on. I did get the list of
who was involved, but that's all I've heard about the run in a .long. time.
I wan't to go with it, let's see if it can be revived.

You're supposed to (correct me if I'm wrong, Drake) simultaneously break
into VirtFun's Matrix, swiping their personnel records and any other
handy data, and physically strike VirtFun, aiming to take an artificial
intelligence program module (*NOT* an AI, just a program that 'learns').
Minimal casualties; you've all been equipped with trank darts and the
like. If you guys could get in touch with each other and arrange a
battleplan, then present it to me for judging, I'd appreciate it; if I
don't get some response soon, I'm going to assume that lack of
organization caused the run to fail badly... (:3

Sorry I'm late. Didn't get your letter 'till after turkey-day.
As I understand it, Raven is one of the two deckers staying behind to provide
matrix cover to the operation. Her speciality is encryption and decryption. And
her reaction to suprises? Violent. *BEG*
I'll help write the run, if you need me to. But I'll need more info on
Virt.Fun, and an idea of the exact goals of the run. (Oh Miiiike.......)

Correct. They are armed with Yamaha Pulsars and
I think a few Ares Squirts. They bring their own
back up piece. Pistols please. No casualties unless
absolutely necessiary. That was the gist of it.
Target...personel files. Randi is the physical
extraction to cover the personel files being swiped.
All this just for one persons personel file.
And they call me paranoid.

Ok, this is what Drake is wanting.
The Physicals go in to get Randi. An annoying program. 8)
Solitaire has been equiped to extract it. The rest are there
to get her in with as few casualties as possible. MAJOR STIPULATION.
He made that expressly clear. Zero if possible. The Outside Matrix
are there to cover the Physicals and they also are to extract all
personel files they can come across. Especially SierraFL's file.
These are the goals. How they achieve them is up to them.

Paranoia is good for ya considering you don't know when you may get geeked...

Ok for those of you on the VirtFun run:

HeadCase:
Cool head under fire, has warped sense of humor (not in combat), is an expert
at the martial arts style carromeleg (elven Because he is...). Basically pure
muscle with an education and the ability to kill with out any remorse. Does
as instructed to get the job done.

FireBird:
'nother elf....mostly follows HeadCase's lead (makes my job easier). Can be
edgy at times...

I am curious as to how we are to let this unfold? I mean we could go just off
the cuff but I think we need some way of conversing directly. Could all of the
virtfun people mail me a letter (e-mail) with your address and who you are in
this run, also if you have access to internet (telnet or an IRC client). I
think that we can discuss this rather simply.

Okay, HeadCase and FireBird are added to my list of participants who have
responded. As for how to organize it, I figured on writing up the
results of the run myself, sending that to all the participants, and
letting them embellish their versions of the story as they saw fit; we
could meet somewhere via IRC or Telnet as far as I'm concerned. Try to
get some organization, though, folks; it's been a couple weeks, and I
still haven't heard from some of the people who are supposed to be
involved with this run.

Ok. As characters go I'll only have one along on the Run....Vertical, combat
mage who intends using a lot of mana-bolt/invis type spells to keep things
quiet. 6'8", black elf with no hair and a datajack, he looks a little strange,
has a bit of a thing about small people(less than 6'0") but respects anyone
who proves themselves worthy of it. He'll carry a pulsar, a narcoject lethe,
and a net gun with sedative covering the fibres(1-shot only) it should take
down anything smaller than a troll. Magically, he has a .lot. of spells, not
neccesarily of the highest power, but if it's needed he probably has it(67 at
last count). he likes subtle intrusions so this is exactly his scene. A good
tactician, he'd probably be involved in planning the run...

So, now all we need is for someone(anyone) to make up what we need about the
vitfun complex i.e. security, layout. and we can go. Post here or email me.

VIRTFUN run . . .

Well, hey, I've been looking for a way to get one of my
characters involved in a storyline, this sounds like a way to do it.

Flicker, 6'4" red haired elven woman with almost pearlescent
skin. She's a physical adept with some bio and cyber mods, uses
a style of martial arts unknown to most modern folk, based on
fast dodges and strikes, also emphasizes the use of bladed
weapons. She _can_ use a gun, and even carries one, but prefers
strange killtoys or her hands, or her blades.

Um, Deird'Re, you need to talk on SHADOWTK to David Etherial. He's
organizing the run in-character. I'm just the guy who invented VirtFun.

Of course, if you were planning on offering your services to *them*, I
*would* be the one to talk to... (:3

IMPORTANT NOTE! My feed of the SHADOWTK list has been *down* for several
days! (I've been reading a pipe of it into a pseudo-newsgroup, and the
person piping it has had technical difficulties.) If there's something
important I need to see, please, send it to me via email!

Well, okay. I was getting a bit confused, and uncertain as to
how and who to post to. Argh. I have so much E-mail coming
through my STM is dying. ;-)
