The problem is that so many of the characters in the storylines lately,
both "good" and "bad" bave been so one-dimensional. Hi, I'm insane, I
think I'll kill off a bunch of people. Try to stop me.

What we need are enemies that are developed over a long time, have
believeable grudges and ambitions, and have more that raw "insanity" to
base it on.
