As far as Dante is concerned, having him living totally unmolested in the
middle of one heck of a lot of bugs is fine with me. And I thought that him
living alone totally unmollested in the Noose was bad enough....

And we can always change the city of his final post-mortem screw to another
city(a side-plot that Dark Angel and I are working on), so that's no big deal
either.

However, I also agree that this kind of sudden introduction of a MAJOR change
in the Shadowtk universe should NOT have been arbitrarily introduced. Now, I
have been guilty of this in the past(Gamma-Anthrax, playing a vampire
character, etc.), and will be again(specifically, Dante's final crowning
glory) most likely, unless the people here decide to curtail this. However,
for the sheer importance of Chicago as a current plot device, it should have
been discussed.

As an example: I am planning on creating another AAA megacorp, destroying a
mega-Munchkin orginization that is responsible for more agents and is better
at intelligence gathering than the CIA and KGB combined(add the Mossad to that
too) which is why it is getting destroyed. This has been hinted at for some
months now and I am now stating it openly for general discussion(the AAA
stuff, that is, not the Org stuff).

This is what needed to be done with the conversion over to Chicago being Bug
City. Not all of us have read, or have even been able to find Burning Bright.
We all probably knew it was coming, but we didn't expect it to happen so
suddenly. If we had, various plots would have been relocated. Dante's might
still have been there, as it would have made his death all that more
difficult. But what about A.I. and Monica? They are located in Chicago. I
may have to relocate another plot of mine in order to make it dangerous
again, rather than another inconvience(a major one, but still an inconvience)
to be swatted like another bug.

Having said this, I must agree with Dan that we work in a compromise somehow.
This is the ONLY way to institute some semblance of continuity. I can easily
start it up with Maxim's holdings in Chicago, since they have a rather large
office/manufacturing facility there. All I need is a go-ahead.
