I would like to take this moment to state something:

Plot-d was made to be in existance for two purposes. First to discuss
administrative issues such as how to modifiy the FAQ and to get people to do
the actual work of carrying out those tasks. The second purpose, was to plan
out story lines. As a general rule of thumb, is that the list moves in the
direction that FASA publishes, but does so normally with a month or two delay,
so as to implement the changes that are brought about. The reason it takes so
long is because Shadowtk is a story, and that it makes no sense to have
something major happen and not have it develop in the story.

There have been cases where the limit has been pushed. The pope was killed
off. Definitely not a FASA sponsored event, and one that should have been
brought up here before taking place as it effects the major world.

Tim Skirvin, before you took off on your task to make your characters fit into
Mr. Dowd's vision of what is happening to Chicago, you should have checked for
the following:

1) What is the status of the Universal Brotherhood? After hearing what had
been said, you could have mentioned what your talk to Mr. Dowd covered, and
that there is massive changes happening in Shadowrun considering the Universal
Brotherhood. As a list we would have moved to deal with the changes and would
have gotten there.... again, it wouldn't have been overnight, like the span
between Double Exposure and Burning Bright. But we would have gotten to where
FASA was soon enough. (Especially when you consider there are no dates in
Double Exposure, so we do have some leverage to state our case of being
slightly delayed).

2) Does it affect anyone if I skip to where FASA is now?
And the simple answer is yes it does. It affects 24 characters last I checked.
Not necessarily a minor amount. (not all of those would have been heavily
involved).

Now, it is possible, when the administrators give the green light to move
forward, that Crashkit being "treated" by the Universal Brotherhood's medical
clinic, could be the very tool to get the Universal Brotherhood underground.

In which case, it would be a matter of a mere month from the being forced into
underground, before the events that you so despartely want to take place
happen.

Yes your timeline is screwed up, and that will have to be the case. But you
are not the only one and I think you would be wise to remember that. Everybody
wants there storyline to be the most important one, but the truth is, they are
all important and makes shadowtk what it is. And that means, people cannot go
about changing the world without working up to it. Especially when you have
(last I checked) 100 people (give or take a few) involved.

There is one other thing that I want to say, and this is directed to Brian
Angliss. I think at this time, I would have to agree with some of the others
on the list, and say that our world doesn't need another first tier corp. In
matter of fact, I believe to have a second tier corp become a first tier corp
you have to replace one of the incumbants, and that is going against FASA.
(I'll look that up in Corporate Shadowfiles tonight.)
