Robert,
The nuke goes off inside a magical ward set up by the bugs.
Therefore, the blast radius is held into a several block radius. A rough idea
of the area of chicago is included by inference when the main character is
searching astrally for the hive. It wouldn't be too hard to extract a generic
"map" given the information in the book.
As for not having the book. If you really are interested, I can buy a
copy and ship it to you, if you'll reimburse me.
Most of the humans that get wasted are not wasted by the nukes, but by
the bugs. The plan was to "Nuke the site from space, that's the only way to
be sure." but it didn't go as planned because of the ward. The bugs are
"gone" but If I remember correctly, the people are "quarantined" to
Chicago.
I'm sure that somehow we can get you informed.
