*grin* Have to love all the arguments that have been caused by what is
happening in Chicago. I would like to say this though... I do not understand
the people here. I can think of plenty of really good stories that are
creative and unique that have nothing to do with Universal Brotherhood's demise
or Horror's. Looking back at the history of Shadowtk there have been plenty of
creative stories in the past that didn't conflict FASA.

For example, Ed's Widowmaker, my whole twisted Germany storyline, and the
storyline that runners were hired to rescue a baby dragon. Then there are
others like Omega Island, the Dead Wyrm's Ouro's story, and the life and death
of Ganz. And these are but just a few of them. *grin*

I don't see why everyone has to run stories about horrors and such.
Personally, I hate the idea of mixing Earthdawn with Shadowrun, but that is
personal. Unless I can help it otherwise, I won't enter the horror mess with
my characters. It doesn't seem like an creative idea to me. It actually
sounds more and more like "Hey here is a concept that FASA has come up with....
let's take it and grind it into ground."

Just now, taking a small pause to think where various characters are.... I have
a storyline idea that I may develop that centers around Shadowfox and the
Yakuza. And for once it won't involve most of my other characters (hopefully).

I have noticed that people here think that a storyline has to be
earth-shattering to be good. That is not the case. There was nothing
earth-shattering by kidnapping Blitzkrieg. No threat of immediate war, no
corporations were going to die, no governments overthrown. Nothing
world-breaking came of Commander Drake capturing Doomsday. Nothing major came
out of HAMMER's breaking of Shadowfox's knee. Save Shadowfox is now in debt to
the Yakuza.

To say the least, I'm amused at everyone's oh let's do this outrageous *smile*
events to create a story. It isn't needed. If I have my impression of
Shadowrun correct, the average runners do 2-3 runs per month.... and none of
them are particularly earth shattering. Further still, any GM worth his or her
salt could create a campaign and have a group of players remember it for a long
time to come.

Well, just some amused thoughts on all this.

Mike
