I would disagree that their focus on magics that cause harm or distruction
defines why they are toxic. I have always considered toxic to me the type
of mana they use (toxic mana, mana that has been polluted and twisted do to
exposure of negative life energies, like nuclear waste or a concentration
camp). The use of this mana twists their perceptions of nature/and faith
such that they become avengers or rabid, ect..

I like the concept of the Chaotic mage. The mage using the same polluted
mana as the shaman, resulting in twisting their perceptions such that the
'scientic' laws the mage usual seeks to use to define their magic, becomes
chaotic and uncontolled seeking instead of order but randomness and chaos.

Note in either instance, the fact that they ar toxic or chaotic does not
mean they are evil (though they may be). But instead demonstrates an
instability/insanity within the mage/shaman. Such that reality as the rest
of SR defines it is wrong and needs to be change to fit their reality. It
also seems as if this is a precusor to the pollution of the horrors which
apparantly are evil.

Just some thoughts.
Enjoy.
