Thanks for the complement Brian. I wonder at my worth of it.
Yes I have been working hard at the chess metaphor. And no, I didn't
intend for it to sound that Harker and Nightmare were in bed with each
other. *grin* You pulled a fast one on me there. My fault for
deciding against a visual post and instead just a post of people
talking. Oh well.

What's going on in my neck of the woods is relatively complex....

Shadowfox and Doomsday stumbled upon a massacre. They set up a
meeting through Scourge with Ares that went sour for outside reasons.
Shadowfox and Doomsday were held up. A few days later, when it became
apparent that Scourge was a target for retribution for preventing the
success for a run and that he was going to tell Claw where Shadowfox
was, he was yanked out of his old home (Dee Cee) and moved.

Christopher Harker emerges on scene and kidnaps Blitzkrieg. Knocking
out a bitter Scarface in the meantime. Claimed at time that he was a
friend of Doomsday and Shadowfox. Doomsday said to Kor that he never
heard of the guy. Doomsday went to protect kids that were survivors
of the massacre... while he was away the humanis scrags struck again.
Kor and Griffyn did their collective best but one kid died anyway.
Doomsday had an odd reaction to the news of the death but no one ever
figured out why that was.

Harker opened a close-bid on Blitzkrieg. Entertaining some creative
responses he chose 'a Collector.' The man who stole Powerhouse's
sword for HAMMER a while back. Harker was asked to bring proof of his
holding of Blitzkrieg via Blitzkrieg's cybernetic arm. Harker showed
up with the arm. Sprinkler and Rook were being held hostage which
surprised Harker. As 'a Collector' was inspecting the arm, the
bartender of the joint walked in and killed him (a Collector). It was
subtly revealed that the bartender was none other than Nightmare --
Blitzkrieg's older half-brother.

Meanwhile, Kor has had people scrambling left and right to gain
information on the several people missing. The Wanderer has made an
appearance is apparently one of the people involved in the original
massacre. Wanderer has hinted that the children surviving know
something valuable. Doomsday shipped the children off to Germany, but
the people who were to watch over them are notably not there.
(Wanderer doesn't realize this yet).

Ratspeak and Black Knight unwittingly discovered where Scourge is.
(Detroit). Wanderer is hunting one of Doomsday's friends -- the guy
he killed was not a friend but merely information for his hunt.

And I think Kor is about to try and hire Ratspeak.

I might have missed something as this story has taken a while to get
going.

Oh one thing that has nothing to do with anything. Scarface has
fallen out of grace with his old friends. Watch for him to become
more violent with time.
