Oh, I dunno....I suppose it depends on the situation. While it's true that
the corps have extraterritorial rights, this does not instantly mean that they
want to off all the Runners of the world....after all, they want their own pool
of labor to draw upon as well. Of course there are some things that the corp
cannot allow to leave the building, but perhaps they might try some sort of
"you'll do _this_ for us and we won't raise an undue fuss over this little
incident". Also, some Runners might have the means to arrange for some
"protection" in the form of damaging information to be delivered if they don't
make it out alive. Of course there are also the nastier forms in which the
Runners are "cleansed" in one way or the other of their little jaunt into
corp-land, but I think our imaginations are good enough to furnish that part
text-unread.
