when you see PRIVATE: Velli/Avatar in a heading, then it's generally
going through ShadowLand as anything else would. The "PRIVATE: Maxim
Internal (blank) Log" means that it's internal communications and meant
to show what is going on inside Maxim between, generally, Velli and
Avatar, with Dr. Spin occasionally.
When Maxim was up and going full bore for a while last spring, I did have
Mercury plant data worms, and I'd had Dante do something similar prior to
that as well. Again, all for plot development so that we all, as
players, could know what was going on even if our characters didn't.
What fun is a story if you can't tell it because it's all going on behind
the scenes?
I've been trying to move away from using "ShadowLand" for anything that
wasn't between Maxim and field operatives, instead relying on internal
comm. logs instead. The person who is local to the recording location is
generally un-quoted. To use yesterday's Maxim post as an example, Velli
was unquoted because the recording was logged in at the Boulder HQ, not
in Ute, where Avatar/John was. If everyone is local, then it varies from
where in, say, Boulder, it was recorded.
I hope this clarifies why, and maybe how, I do my Maxim posts. As I
said, I'm getting away from using SLand for most of the Maxim stuff
unless it's likely that it would be used.
