Brian,
The problem here is that you keep pushing Maxim on everyone, which is why
everyone in the first place concentrated on them. I suggest after this
little plot, you have them just sit back for a while to allow for the
suspicions to settle down. As with most things the more you push something
to the fore, the more people are going to want to bring it down. And with
all things, no matter how well you try to prevent something from getting
out(or in for that matter) something can ALWAYS get through.
