Sadly, rasicsm is more of a constant than an exception to the rule.
Especially in the Shadowrun universe, where there is more beatiful
diversity than in our own world. I belive that NAN holds no Monopoly
in this matter. I hold up the French as an example. Long ago French
was spoken around the world as the Lingua Franca (sp?) or "common
speach". Their culture was seen as the most civilized and copied by
all those "in the know". Now they form but a small country, slowly
shutting the outside world out because it ceases to whorship them.
Now they are the butt of bad jokes and are infested with mimes.
Once, it was our turn, the mighty United States of America,
we trampled other cultures on our way to the top. Then we fell andnow
those cultures are bitter, griveing over wounds inflicted not by one
person, but by a culture. I only hope that the "Natives" don't infest
us with mimes.


(as an asside, almost _all_ of the "native" indian cultues that the US
displaced where there because the peoples who lived on that land
before them died. I am not calling all the tribes "agressors", but
no culture currently around has been the first to live on any
particular piece of land with a few possible exceptions, such as
artic researchers and maybe the Inuits)
