I'm designing a new plot and I thought I'd clear a few things with the rest
of you before I got too far. The plot centers around Hayashi, a persistently
troubled double-A biotech megacorp (already briefly mentioned on this list
and owned by Rob Granat, with whom I've cleared all of this). I can't use
one of FASA's because I'm going to do a whole lot of mucking around with it
and it's possible that events may cause Hayashi to go bankrupt, get taken
over, or otherwise cease to exist.

The plot also involves a bunch of genetically-engineered vat-grown people,
who can't do anything outside the range of capabilities of "normal" humans.
I haven't seen FASA specifically state that I want to do is possible, but I
think it falls within a reasonable extrapolation of the technology level of
the Shadowrun universe as they've presented it. While the artificial person
technology is going to remain very rare and expensive regardless of what
happens, there are some implications for the larger environment if its
existence becomes public knowledge and I didn't want to surprise anyone
with it.
