[Big snips about other peoples thoughts on the subject]

I have been reading the reactions of people to GK's post about leaving
Shadowtk, and I finally decided to throw my 2 cents worth into the arena.

I want to say that while I respect GK's decision to leave the list I find it
regrettable that he allowed his displeasure with how some people worked
their plots and characters drive him away. I wish that he could have let
others run their characters they way they see them, and still see his way to
run his as he sees fit. If you don't like how other characters are played,
don't get involved with them.

Isn't that what we do in RL. Deal with those that we like and get along
with, and try and avoid those things that irritate us. Even though this is
role-playing, people are still people.

Granted sometimes these things would come up and smack you (with a wet carp?
:), but you should not stop what you believe in because someone has a
different view, because someone always will.

I believe that a type of consistency would come from this. Those ideas that
more people agree with would gropw stronger as more people realized that
this is how the world works. (I know as a new member of the list I watched
for several days to see how things were done. I even downloaded several
months of logs to get some idea of how plots were developed.) The ideas
that don't generate much response would be abandoned in favor of those that do.
