|Not had the displeasure of dealing with them. Had a minor fling with
|Mercury, but they insisted that I use BT, to connect to Mercury in
|Portsmouth, seeing as Mercury weren't on the island. It all seemed a
|bit pointless, paying two phone bills to two companies for one service.
|We haven't got cable over here, and it doesn't look like we ever will,
|so that's ruled out... So, it's jolly old BT. Damned nuisance if you
|want my opinion. :(
You want a nuisance story???
Keele uni has contracted Nynex in to fit phone/cable and network lines in
all the accomodation rooms....
The thing has been a total nightmare for a lot of people.....
Stories so far include....
Fitting the plastic conduit for the cable, then coming back a few days later
saying they put it in the wrong place and can we rip it all out again...
(My block suffered this, and they haven't even ripped it out of my room
yet... I think they were due to have finished by now....)
Whilst working in a flat, someone comes in, sits down and starts watching
TV. (this is from the other side of campus)...
The workmen leave, and later that day see the person walking away with a bin
liner-full of stuff.....
He's only nicked the TV and stereo.....
Workmen spending far too long in the all girl blocks than is absolutely
nessecary.....
And on... and on.... and on.... and on.... Errrrrr... Ooops, wrong advert....
