Subject: research dollars?

Hey all,

I'm just jumping in, so bear with me. All the details are being
worked out in my head as I write, but my main question is; other
than corp r&d divisions is anyone out there shelling out nuyen
for people to conduct research and other scholarly activities?

I don't remember reading anything that covers what goes on in
any institutions of higher learning. What is the state of the
field of archeology? Who is funding and for what purpose?

I'm going to introduce a fixer type, Bellevue, who is an information
junkie. He's a front man for a couple of runners, but with his share
he buys books, chips, artifacts, etc. I expect Bellevue to be somewhat
legitimate, funding research in exchange for a percentage of the rights
and a copy of anything gathered. I couldn't come up with a good name,
so it'll be obvious; Scholars, Inc.

Finally, if anyone sees any possible problems (the government and corps
are obvious) in Seattle with this kind of business let me know. I'm
looking for more s-tk specific things. For example, Dark Avenger is
doing this and wouldn't react too nicely to someone trying to steal
some of his market.

Much thanks in advance.

Oscar
