I am relatively new to the list and have been going over the logs since
the beginning of January to get a feel for things before commenting. In
regard to the whole bombing plot, it was well written but I have a few
questions. As you mentioned, LSSS has several departments, divisions, and
special squads...one of these is the D.P.I.(Division of Paranormal
Investigation - Pgs 54-59 Lone Star Sourcebook). Where were the members
of this Division during the Bus Killings?
This is where I had a problem when reading the posts. I understand your
reluctance and that these posts are a plot device to further develop
various agencies within this particular list but LSSS does have a rather
large and qualified number of personnel in this division and though you
can keep the mages away physically easy enough. There astral backup unit
could have quickly sent a mage to at least give a detailed report of what
was going on inside each bus after a quick run through astrally and then
manifesting as a few are initiated.
The astral unit could also bring elementals with them (presuming from
statements made in the book about their "whipping" them up, I take that to
mean previously summoned and awaiting to render services) which could then
be deployed in a manner to attempt to resolve the situation.
Otherwise, I found them rather enjoyable and the implied crackdown rather
well developed to counter this increase in violence and to prevent the
perception that LoneStar is impotent.
I plan to join the list actively in the next day or two with a few
characters of my own. One of which will be a LS D.P.I. Combat Mage, if
this character could be of use to the further development of what is going
on within this plot line to give `A' perspective from a cop's angle,
please feel free to email me with further details of what you are trying
to develop.
