(I'm sporadically behind on plot-d. I apologize if this has already
been covered and beaten to death.....)

Unless I'm mistaken, there is one rule (and a corollary) to keep in
mind for player corporations. (I saw something on shadowtk that made
me mildly concerned.)

Rule: Player corp's cannot contradict FASA's world. For instance,
Serenity, should not replace LSS as Seattle's choice for city-wide Law
Enforcement. They could try, but they should fail for the bid. (Of
course, last I heard, my example isn't the best choice. Serenity,
AFAIK, wasn't going for Seattle's general law enforcement contract.)

Corollary: Player corp's cannot replace the Big Eight. They can try,
(and who would blaim them), but they shouldn't succeed.

Other than the general rule of if you are going to alter the world as
we know it, to please run it by plot-d beforehand -- there aren't many
rules on the whole beasty of player corporations.

Mike
