Well, I seem to recall that TK's original Germany was an imperialist,
expansionist state. Then the Germany Sourcebook came out, and that caused
a huge row if I recall. This all happened before I joined the first time,
but the fallout was still going on. I understand that Herr Doctor Doom had
to do a hell of a lot of changes...but basically TK Germany became FASA
Germany.

I think, that for the most part, the only major differences between the
list and the FASA reality is the time line. The lock down of Chicago was
delayed by more than a month on TK so that people could get Burning Bright
and later, Bug City, and we would know what we were doing (made a few
people a bit irked they had to wait as I recall). And it was already
mentioned that the Target: UCAS book upset the time line once again.

Other things, like the Redmond Riots (I think I was a part of that one
actually; that was the one with the nasty wraith and the weird spirit that
came in to smash it after everyone else had failed, right?) aren't major
events that would upset the world of SR. Important to the TK version of
SR, but not to the entire world view, and if you don't know about it, it
won't make much of a difference.

What else? There was Brian's Maxim Arms going nuclear and detonating a
nuclear weapon on the other side of the moon; again, while that was epic
for TK, it isn't critical knowledge to be on the list and may not have had
any lasting effect on the SR world of 205x. Made some corps really pissed,
and Maxim took a few nasty blows, but nothing earthshaking.

For reference, I'm defining earthshaking as the discovery of the Invae, the
Big D's assassination, the possible repercussions of the Blood in the
Boardroom sourcebooks (the Big 8 may not be anymore).

For this reason, I'm not sure a TK synopsis is totally necessary, since TK
hasn't diverged greatly from FASA other than the time line. And corporate
espionage and extractions have been done hundreds of times, and will be
done hundreds more by this list. After all, that's a major part of the
game, right?

So in review, the only major differences that I know of between TK SR and
FASA SR is that TK delays the time line somewhat.

Erik J.

PS: Whatever did happen to Herr Doom? Anybody know? Did anybody know his
real name?
