I hate to interrupt Erik and Paul's discussions on this matter.... but

Erik, I disagree with you on this. I think Ares would get crushed.
Not necessarily from the UCAS response. You think for a moment that
LSS and the other competitors with Ares police and security forces are
going to sit still when Ares starts trying to take on the UCAS.

If Knight Errante stops policing the areas that they are contracted to,
the UCAS bites the bullet, breaks the contract with Ares and hires LSS
to provide direct competition to the areas. In addition, they would
call out Metroplex/National Guard to enforce the laws during the
transition. While it wouldn't be adequate, it would work.

Ares, meanwhile, loses a lot of revenue. Other corporations take note,
and decide, "Hey, maybe Ares isn't powerful enough to be on the
corporate council." All of a sudden you have a feeding frenzy on
Ares's assets.

One corporation as powerful as Ares could cause serious, and lasting
damage to the structure of a country. However, if the country is
entrenched enough, it would fail in its bid to take over the country.

I base that statement on just what the UCAS could pull off on its own.
What happens if CAS or NAN decides that it really doesn't want to be
boardered on by a corporation that turned its back on its contracts?
Suddenly you have another country gaining positive ground with the UCAS
and Ares is now fighting battles in two countries.

As far as I can tell, its a downward spiral for one company to take on
a whole country in attempt to run the country. Make more economic
sense to just influence legislation and let other people run the
country. (I believe FA$A even makes that statement somewhere.)
