I recently purchased a booster pack - actually, it was several... - but
anyway, when i opened it, imagine my surprise to find that some of the
cards had been 'mis-cut'.

Which is to say - they were too short on the top and too long on the
bottom. ie - the image wasn't centred correctly. Only by a centimetre or
so. But still - it's enough, and i thought 'what a curious thing...'

Has this happened to anyone else? are these cards strangely rare and
valuable?? (he says hopefully) - or should i just put them in the bin. or
send them back to FASA.

They were only a few commons - so i'm not particularly bothered - just
curious.

Andrew.

I have a Foxy Roxie that is the same way. I don't know if the cards are any
more valuable (like a stamp would be) but they sure are hard to play with.
Everyone knows when Foxie is in my hand.

Yea..it's happened to me before. It actually happended with a rare too. I
doubt they will be worth more since I see from the replies that it has
happended to rather a few people.

Fortunately, you can now purchase sleeves for your cards that have a
black or red back. Not only does this protect your cards, but no one
knows when that "Foxy Roxy" will turn up!

Way back when, I opened a starter pack with the same situation. I
emailed Mike, explained the situation, offered to mail them in with the
UPC symbol. Mike was kind and generous and sent back an envelope
stuffed with rares and promos.

You might want to try the same. Go the humble route, though; don't
mention my name or demand a full refund. Mention how it might help
(they must be *really* fed up with Yaquinto by now...) and leave it at
that. I obviously can't make promises.

If, however, you can't get rid of them, I might be interested in them.

I have seen this with every type of card imaginable, from Poler cards to
Baseball cards...:] ANd especially magic cards...

Thety aren;t worth anything extra... A small portion of the FASA print run
was fed through the cutter slightly off center, most likely... I had a
small portion of a Booster pack come like this (the commons in it,
fortunately).

Talk to FASA. They've been really cool about replacing miscuts and the
like. :]

Hell, it's also nice if you happen to own the wonderful Demo Cards that
were handed out at Origins, Gen Con, and a few other places, which have a
big "Demo Only" stamped on the back. There were a LOT of cool rares in
those decks, and I still use them :] But they are fairly obvious when they
come up (I have a large handful of "common" Demo cards in the deck as well
though, just because Tinner is paranoid anytime he seems Demo Only on a
challenge (Could it be the Dracoform?) or in my hand (False Mentor?:)),
but then again... It might be a basilisk :]

Yes it has, and no they are worth nothing. You have been

screwed basically.
