With the influx of newbies (though I've noticed some veterans getting
lazy as well), I have found a number of replies showing up without the
previous message quoted of with the reply at the top of the message
before the quote.

I wanted to post the following from the SRCard FAQ for those who
haven't gotten around to reading it or have just forgotten.

~!~!~!~!~!

4.A Quoting Previous Posts
Only quote what is directly related to your reply. (Take out .sig
files, excess so-and-so wrote on date: messages, and other things that
have nothing to do with your post.) But *do* leave in something that
will give the readers a hint of what you are talking about... Please
put your reply after the text they refer to, editing the bits that
don't have anything to do with your reply.

~!~!~!~!

Thanx for taking the time out for netiquette. :o)

The complete FAQ can be found at the URL in my sig, along with
Dvixen's (most current) and Lady Jestyr's pages.

These messages were posted a long time ago on a mailing list far, far away. The copyright to their contents probably lies with the original authors of the individual messages, but since they were published in an electronic forum that anyone could subscribe to, and the logs were available to subscribers and most likely non-subscribers as well, it's felt that re-publishing them here is a kind of public service.
