Eeesh.
I'll be the first to admit my omnipotent presence has been almost unseen of
late. I've had little time for more than scanning through the threads and
keeping a slight eye on matters, but I'm still around. I've been shooting
warnings off to the offenders I've noted, and trying to go with a "three
strikes your out" approach. This was what most of you stated that you wanted
for policy and guidelines. Now, here's one of you saying that the don't like
that style. <sigh>
You're also going to have to understand GC'98 and other matters have a number
of your admins hopping about and being pulled in other directions. This is in
answer to Neil Fathulla's "Posting, Policing and Whining" post as well, where
he felt the mantle of admin should be passed on to other more capable
individuals. Though we are dedicated to SRCard and the SRTCG, as human beings
we do have lives and exist in the really-real-world that will encroach on us
from time to time.
As for myself: I've been involved in playtesting both the SRTCG and SRRPG
which involved regular reports and a seperate emailing list for a while. I'm
studying for MCSE exams, one recently passed and another coming on the heels
of my return form GC'98. I'm in the process of a recent promotion at work,
involving a hell of alot more responisibility. I'm cracking the books and
studying in preparation for judging in the Earthdawn and SRRPG tournaments at
GC'98. I'm caught in the midst of a major family emergency that's had my
17-year-old cousin (more like a little sister) come down from Oregon to live
with my wife and I. Then there's just real life - a regular weekly game I GM,
work, wife, baby, yard sales, chores, etc.
Tony: He's involved in our SRTCG and SRRPG playtesting group. He also plays in
our regular weekly games of Eartdawn and SRRPG. Plus school and regular life.
Matb: Possibly involved in some of the GC'98 projects. He's involved in
playtesting SRTCG. Etc.
Lady Jestyr: Recently caught in a pretty serious car wreck. Had a burglary
that cost her a computer system before that.
Dvixen: On vacation in Europe recently. Has company visting. Involved in SRRPG
playtesting.
Adam: Also involved in the SRRPG playtesting. GC'98 planning. Real life
drudgery. Etc.
Your list admin and GridSecs are aware of issues, there has been talk behind
the scenes. To get things back on track, I support going to a single-warning
policy with offenders of posting guidlines and FAQ issues.
One of the GridSecs, Adam, has received the Admin password for SRCard. As he
is the Fearless Leader of ShadowRN, our sister mailing list, I trust his
judgement, and he is fully capable of unsubbing and/or locking accounts if it
goes that far.
I'm not a fan of police states and heavy-handed administration, but when being
the "good cop" seems to fail you're only left with turning to the "bad
cop."

Still don't understand what you feel you've done or where you got the idea you
were so disliked...
