Subject: Amerindian Ideas -- Bikes! (3/5)
Date: Wed, 15 Jul 1998 07:27:33 -0700
I do not know is any of you folks have read anything by Neil Gaimen (a
vertigo comic named The Sandman is what he is best known for). Anyway in
Good Omens (a fantastic novel that he co-authors) the four riders of the
acopolypse do not ride out of the flames atop horses; they ride in on
Harleys! The effect is great and it spawned the idea that bikes would be a
great part of the Amerindian expansion. In addition to these new bike
ideas that we came up with, Christophe Huestis and I came up with some
other interesting ideas he other day.

Gear
Indian Chief (Vehicle/Bike) -- 4 Y
+0/+0 (A+2) to user.
First gear card is free.
Picture: Amerindian Troll with a full beard, cyber arms, and wearing
goggles and smoking a stogie riding an armored 1946 Indian Chief: 74 Cubic
Inch Engine, with Black painted frame, chrome front forks, extra chrome all
over and a blazing center mounted Gatling cannon (Paul and Christophe
agree this is genius!!)
Flavor: "You ain’t makin’ me wear a helmet."

Ducati - 900FE - Mustang (Vehicle/Bike) -- 5 Y
+2/+0 to user.
If user is an Amerindian, turn and pay 3 yen to inflict 3 pts damage to
target opponents safe house. Owner distributes damage.
Picture: Amerindian Elf ganger riding with uzi blazing into a crowd of
people – mass carnage.
Flavor: "Engine • V-Twin; Bore x Stroke 92mm x 68mm; Displacement 904cc;
80HP @ 7000RPM – What more could you possibly want!!"

Ducati M900 - Stallion (Vehicle/Bike) -- 3 Y
+1/+0 (A+1).
Picture: Amerindian Female human with dreadlocks speeding through an alley
with glass exploding behind her from surrounding buildings.
Flavor: "That’s all you got?"

www.wilsonmc.com/duclist.htm ( These are really cool bikes!!)

Center Mounted Gatling Cannon – (Gear/accessory) -- 4 yen.
Play on any bike. +3/+0 to user.
Picture: Harley Scorpion charging forward, cannon blazing with a grinning
Ork, tusks bared
Flavor: This baby will cut through a Lone Star APV.

Would applying this only to bikes make it too limiting? With these new
additions, I do not think so.

Thanks for you comments!
In addition,

What do you think about this runner from the 1/5 list? I really like the
idea.

Sable / Ganger Scout / 6Y
4/4 Amerindian Elf. Stealth-1, Firearms-2, Technical.
During owners legwork phase, owner may pay 4Y, turn Sable and any gangers
controlled (no more than 5) and attack all gangers another player controls.
All gangers target players controls may participate in this runner Vs
runner combat.

Paul O.
PS. -- Mattb., your suggestions were right on with the last set, thanks!

H'm. Like all Vehicles, it should be listed as Indoor. It's
essentially a Partial Heavy Armor with no built-in trash -- well, worse,
it sits on top of other Armor -- so I'd either limit it to (A2) (which
is, by itself, very decent, since most Runners don't start off with
armor) or to be played on a Rigger or Runner with Piloting.

Also: "First Gear is free"?! I'm assuming that's the first Gear played
on the 'Chief, rather than the Runner. (Imagine Wheeler pulling out an
Indian Chief and Panther Assault Cannon for free.. *shudder*)

...And a bike with a built-in Drive-By. It's fitting, perhaps actually=

*too* weak as written.

Harley Scorpion: Same effect, only 2Y deployment cost.

Better than Fixed-Fire Cannons. Actually, for what's generally going to
be a higher cost, I'd say go ahead an open it up to all Vehicles. =

Except that - just as most people don't use Ammo for Guns - I don't
expect most people to use Accessories for their Vehicles.
