This is my feeling as well, and as Fearless Leader that's what will
stick. Let's make sure something gets in the FAQ on this. A post
saying you have cards to sell and a request to be contacted in private
email will be allowed at a minimum, but outright sales on the list
won't be tolerated.

Trading and game discussion is what we're here for.

I guess I opened a can of worms on this.

I disagree. Opinion noted.

I agree with my friend that we didn't want to sell this early, but noting
from the newsgroup and this list, distribution was/is the one pathetic. I
just wanted to get to everyone so that everyone has the cards they needed.
My public service to the community; and for fun & profit. :)

Some my said 'trading' doesn't belong here. But, where can one go, where
you can get the diehards. Also, I would like to point out, I still know
this list is still new, but eventually, you might think of creating a few
more lists. For example, L5R (boo/hiss) has several lists:

1) info (game mechanics & discusion)
2) trade (trade and forsale)
3) story (story)
4) game (playing L5R on the net between 2 or more people)

Actually, trading is one reason I moved to start this list, as we knew
it would be showing up on ShadowRN otherwise. Plus, that combined with
discussion would have added the volume you see on our list now to the
already formidable volume of the ShadowRN list. Yuck!

As for the four seperate lists you propose, that may work for
Newsgroups but I can't see it fitting with a mailing list like this.
ShadowRN (our sister list) has been quite successful, and has been
around for years with needing to splinter into sublists. I believe the
members here would like to stick to the same formula. Can some of you
imagine the chaos of trying to keep up with a ShadowRN-Info,
ShadowRN-Story, and ShadowRN-Game? Eeeek!

No, for now I think we will stay with just the SRCard list as a sole
entity. Still, thanx for the suggestion, they're always welcome.

Don;t worry about it... We all do...

However, this list is but one of 5 Shadowrun Related Mailing lists, all of
which are hosted at itribe.net, and was set up through the owner of the
other lists, Mark Imbriaco. There has been a long standing rule of not
selling stuff on the list. This keeps itribe, the List Owners, and
everyone else from getting in trouble if something goes wrong with a sale
or a trade.

Agreed. There is nothing wrong with selling the cards. however, I doubt
you'll find many people interested in buying individual cards just yet.
Your best bet is to wait until a Scrye or Inquest (Preferably Inquest)
comes out with prices in there. that's usually the most impartial (well,
as far as that goes, anyways:)) method of pricing the cards.

Trading is most definately one of the key features of this list. However,
I think the points that were made were this: Once two people have agreed
upon trading, the discussion should them be taken private. I don;t really
need to no (nor may I want to see) mails that you are trading Loki and need
his home address and phone number, or whatever...

Basically, there's a point when it should cease to become Public Mail
(Which everything to the list is) and Should become private mail.

However, posting Trade lists and Want lists is more than find.

Also, There is no real problem with posting a message taht says "I'm
looking to sell off various Uncommons and Rares. Write me for a list".
That covers any problems the list might have.

Maybe someone on the list could set-up a web page were people could
post a list of there wants and needs for trade or for sell. I could
do a big chunk of the CGI scripts if someone could get the space. My
current web space does not allow CGI scripting due to "Possible
security risk".
