Hola,

BTW, glad that everyone that went to Gen Con had a good time. Sounds like
something that might be worth the trip next year.....

This is mostly for Loki --

Okay, I know you're sworn to secrecy on all the advance testing stuff that
you do for FASA, so I'm going to see if you're up to giving us a Clinton
description on what to expect, to get the masses salivating...

(For general info., a Clinton is a vague, non-committal description of
something that you THINK you might expect, with no concrete description or
details attesting to that fact...in essense, nothing of substance, but
enough to cause people to draw their own conclusions....anyone lost yet? ;-)

Any little tidbits you can toss out about Corp Wars that might get people
to start guessing???

Oh! Oh! There's a thread possibility, people....how about:

What do YOU think is going to be in Corp War? Those of you that play the
RPG can probably help the rest of us out with what other corporations there
are in the Shadowrun world....anyone got any good guesses?????

Thanks, and thanks for your comment, Loki.

Cheers,

Jon

You've got other playtesters on the list as well: Tony, Bull or Matb for
example.

I'm going to try and eventually stay vague. :o)

The designers and playtesters came up with some clever ways of helping out on
the whole Bully/Morph-Objective issue.

The other Megacorps make a showing.

A card was spawned from "The Big Nasty" that Skuzzy penned for me.

Some new runner classes/types make their debut.

Those familiar with the RPG will recognize cameos from some movers and shakers
of the Sixth World.

Overall, I feel Corp Wars fleshes out the game as a whole, and isn't as
specific an expansion as Underworld seemed to be. There are tie-ins and
crossovers to the RPG in Corp Wars, something I really liked in the 1st Run
(Prime Runners, Lofwyr, Harlequin, etc.)

Those players of both the RPG and SRTCG will find Corp Wars seems to be a
"current events" theme.

Other MegaCorp members of the Big Eight from the RPG: Mitsuhama, Yamatetsu,
Shiawase.

Also, in the RPG, Fuchi dies and is replaced by three new Mega Corps, thus
creating the Big 10. Their names escape me at the moment, as this was still
ahead of our RPG group's timeline about the time we got into 3rd Edition
playtesting and then started Earthdawn as I prepped for judging at Gen Con.

'Course I'm not saying exactly where SRTCG follows the timeline of the RPG.
<wink>

> Thanks, and thanks for your comment, Loki.

As I said, you have other playtesters that may comment as well.

Well, as from a long term gamer's stand point I would like to see certain
cards that take in the sights of the corps themselves, such as the Renraku
Arcology and the Aztechnology Pyramid. I am also hoping for some cards that
are a bit better than Underworld, after all most of them couldn't stand at all
against some of the better cards from Limited, especially the challenges. I'm
also hoping to see some IC to block Deckers and maybe some more security
vehicles for the Riggers. Just my hopes, nothing more.

Don't know em. ;)

Like, maaaaannnnnn, there's this super-cool Troll that, like, costs like
twelve nuyen, and if he gets fragged, like, stuff happens like you
wouldn't believe.... like, man, you lose the game, but, like, man, he's
like a beefy Troll with, like, Torgo's ability and, like, FastJack's
too, and like, someone else's too, I can't remember who....

That's not *quite* it's actual evolution....

CW doesn't tie very well into UW -- gamers who really like their Lone
Star or Mafia decks won't find *too* much, initially, to help them. (A
lot of the cards are subtle, though, and *many* can fit into a large
number of different decks.) CW also introduces a couple new deck types,
although only time can prove how successful/popular those will be.

*Slightly* behind the times, since it's been delayed so often. *Sigh*

The German Arkoblocks do *not* make an appearance, although I've
suggested to FanPro basing a new promo on them.

Not a lot on Smugglers, either; they don't really fit into the corporate
schema.

These would be NovaTech (Richard Villiers new company, after he bails
out of Fuchi) and Cross Applied Technologies. To my knowledge, FASA
still hasn't supplied much knowledge on these two (that's for Corporate
Download, methinks) so it's hard to base a card on a non-descript, newly
born corp.

CW was also playtested before SR3, although I don't think any of the
rules changes in SR3 will affect the game at all.

*sigh* He says this, and then doesn't continue... oh, c'mon, tell us! <beg,
grovel>

I think this is a good thing - me personally, I didn't go a bundle on Lone
Star or Crime Decks (though Ganger Decks _are_ fun). SRTCG really is still
in its infancy; at this point we -need- the new sets to be creating new
concepts and opportunities for expansion. Time enough to go back and fill
in the holes later...

And what ARE the German Arkoblocks? :)

Nor Cyberpirates, I would imagine.

Yeah, I guess I asked for that, didn't I :-)

The Arkoblocks are arcologies off the German coast, partially at
concealed locations, with very strong security and obviously built for
conducting very secret projects. There are rumors of toxic shamanism,
cybermantics and other nice gadgets. These arcologies are owned by
several different Megacorps, Saeder-Krupp and Fuchi probably the most
predominant among them. ---Felix
