That's not a bad idea. You have atleast a 50/50 chance of making what
you would usually get with a shot at getting more :-) Or course, with
the way I usually roll dice I doubt I would play with this card ;-)
So how does this sound though:

Shakey Investements
Special
2Y
During the credstick if you decide to take Y instead of drawing cards,
roll a d6. You get the amount of Y equal to the roll instead of the
usual 4Y. This is your base pay, add in any other money generating
effects (such as runners with fame) as usual.

I can't speak for Blood Debt (since I can't recall what it did off
hand), but Black Credstick just requires that a token be put on it
everytime gear is played on the runner with it. I guess I didn't word
it clearly enough. I'll attempt to clean it up a bit.

Thanks

Um...for 2 =Y=? This would make it non-cost-effective (6Y-2Y=4Y...the
same I would get if I didn't play it.) Unless it's a "permanent
special"...and I don't know of any yet that linger after their effect.

Location: Stock Market?

Oops, yeah I should have mentioned on the card that this one stays in
play. The downside of having it as a location though is that you
can't have runners visit locations during the credstick phase.

The only specials I know of that stay around are those played directly
on Runners (i.e. - Infected Chrome, Wanted, etc.)

Matrix Crash. Red Alert (with upkeep, admittedly.) NERPS... okay,
that should be played on a Runner, too.

OK, that's true now, but what about in the future. Do you think "free
floating specials" are a bad thing? Personally I see it (or something
like it) as an eventual development of the game. How about if it
became a contact?

I don't have an issue with Specials that "linger." In fact believe it
was Matb that pointed out a couple do already (Matrix Crash and Red
Alert). I was just stating that I couldn't think of any to did at the
moment.

IMHO Specials and Stingers will probably come to be the SRTCG version
of Enchantment and Sorcery cards.

With the Stingers being interrupts/instances ;-) Yep, I agree...

Back to the topic of discussion. A couple of weekends ago while
driving I came up with several card ideas (it's amazing how the mind
wanders on long trips :-) ). Anyway, I almost have the complete list
typed up for the web site. Here's a couple that fit the current
thread though:

Name: Insurance Kick Back
Type: Stinger
Cost: 3¥
Text: Playable only when healing a runner. Gain ¥ equal to the amount
of damage just healed. "It said triplicate, so I
filled 3 times."

Name: Black Credstick (original)
Type: Special
Cost: 2¥
Text: Roll d6: 1-2 get 1¥, 3-4 get 2¥, 5 get 3¥, 6 get 4¥ Roll can't
be modified.

Let me know what you think

Too expensive. "Filed" :)

I like this one....follows the existing tradition of occasional bad
luck.

Oops.. Yeah, I was wondering about the cost, maybe it would be better
to drop it to 2Y. I guess since I usually play with the "bruiser"
type decks, healing 6-7 points wasn't all that unusual. It was meant
as a quick boost, not as a major money source.

A lot simpler than the other version that I posted the other day as
well :-) Although, maybe this one would be better named "A Day at the
Races" or how about turning it into a location

Name: Casino
Type: Location
Cost: 2¥
Text: Any player's runners may visit. 2Y and turn runner to enter.
Roll d6: 1-2 get 1¥, 3-4 get 2¥, 5 get 3¥, 6 get 4¥ Roll can't
be modified.

Now where's that Troll Bouncer when you need 'em :-)

As a permanent Location, this has odds that are too good. although
opening it up to all players is neat) Try:

Cost: 2Y
Text: Any Players runners may visit. If there is ever less than 2Y on C=
asino, place
cred on Casino (from cred pool?) until it has 2Y. Turn visiting
runner and pay 2Y to Casino. roll d6: 1: runner takes 1 AP damage.
2-3: No effect: 4-5 Take 4Y from Casino 6: Take all Y from Casino

I like it. Did someone say that they are keeping track of card ideas
to send on, or was that just questions? If noone else is doing I
suppose I could keep track of the ideas proposed here on my web site.
(It's the first nonwork web site that I've done, so I'm looking for
things to do with it :-) )

Let me know,

I've been archiving FASA responses and rulings, but that's about it.
If you want to cache the different card ideas that would be cool. You
can pull them from the list archive if need be.

I'll try to dig through the archives later this week. In the mean
time, if anyone has ideas that they have proposed that they would like
included please mail them to me directly (eness@**********.com or
nemein@*********.com). I'll dump them on a page with applicable
references back to the originator (email/web).

Thanks

I have been archiving most of the card ideas, though not all. Can you
read and or use an Access database? If so I could send you my
database containing the NERPS expansion set.

I would be verrry interested in this.. I'm just about to post my "High
Seas" set (off of Cyberpirates - I have a tendency to use sourcebooks
before they've been released yet.)
