Subject: | All Common Deck for Introducing new Players |
Date: | Thu, 12 Mar 1998 13:15:00 -0500 |
have found that many of my decks utilize cards with many rules (decking,
spells, abilities). They also feature many uncommon and rare cards.
New players can be intimidated when faced with a complex deck. So, I set
out to create a deck that is fun, illustrates the rules, isn't too
complex, and has a fighting chance to survive against decks played by
veteran players. Its a good way to put all those common cards that you
might have sitting around to use. Let me know what you think! - Teos.
Common Deck (Dwarf Firepower Deck)
Theme-Tactics:
This deck is composed solely of common cards from the First Run.
Because the cards are common, players with many extra cards should
be able to create this deck easily almost card for card. The deck's
theme is a deck that utilizes dwarves and weapons at a low cost.
The Caves of Halferville location can reduce the cost or increase
the effectiveness of dwarven runners. The Ares predator is combined
with free Explosive Rounds. Shellshock is combined with the
Vindicator at a reduced cost. Other cards and runners complement
the strategy. This deck will stand its own against mage decks and
rigger decks, but is not particularly fast and can not sleaze all
that well. It can be fast at times, and even when it starts slowly,
momentum can be tremendous, culminating in runners with high
offensive capabilities. One weakness is that the match between
challenges and objectives is not ideal, since the more powerful
combinations require rare or uncommon challenges/objectives.
The biggest theme is that this deck is designed to introduce new
players to the game. Therefore, it showcases how different cards
put together can create powerful combos, while still containing a
variety of cards to keep the deck interesting and provide a rich
game for a new player.
